Erma Josephine Jackson
Erma Josephine Jackson died, August 8, 2011, at the age of 96. Born in Clinton County on April 13, 1915, the daughter of Lewis and Edith (DeGurse) Reeb. On November 11, 1936 she married Ernest Jackson and he preceded Erma in death on January 16, 2008. Erma was a long time member of The United Church of Ovid and a Clinton County 4-H leader.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Hugh) Curry, Sandra (Sie) Meadows and Frederick ( Monica ) Jackson, grandchildren, Linda (Craig) Willis, Mark (Elizabeth) Curry, Linette (Donald) Cilla, Todd Meadows, Lisa Rollis, Leah (Jerry) Williams, Christopher Jackson, Adrian Jackson, great grandchildren, Bryan Willis, Carolyn Willis, Ashley Willis, Shannon Willis, Josh Thompson, Brianna Meadows, Corey Meadows, Derrick J. Cilla, Zackery Rollis, Calvin Curry, Carter Curry, Lorelai Williams, Harlow Williams, and one great great granddaughter, Kaitlynn Thompson. Erma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest, daughter, Kathryn Ann Rasmussen, brothers, Robert and Phillip Reeb, son in law, Thomas Rasmussen, as well as her mother in law and father in law, Emma and Frederick Jackson.
Funeral services will be held, Friday, August 12, 2011 at 11:00 am, at The Osgood Funeral Home, 104 East Cass St, St. Johns, with Rev. David Hudgens officiating and burial to follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Earl Beardslee
Earl Beardslee passed away August 7, 2011 at the age of 92. He was born in Clarkston, MI, on August 11, 1918, the son of Casper and Hattie (Beardsley) Beardslee. On January 14, 1939, Earl married Hazel A. Ealy and she survives him. He served in Germany in WWII, then worked at Mississippi Valley Structural Steel (Flint) for 40 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved to farm and was a quiet gentleman admired by all he met.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Hazel, daughters, Shirley (Ken) Hodgson, Susan (Charles) Wagner, Richard (Sheree) Beardslee, grandchildren, Christine Hodgson, Eric (Dee) Hodgson, Shannon (James) Terpenning, Ann Beardslee, Sarah Wagner, Nicholas Beardslee and six great grandchildren, Bradley and Dylan Hodgson, Josselyn, Justin, Jacob and Joshua Terpenning. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ray Beardslee, sister, Lillian Brondige.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Middlebury United Methodist Church in Ovid, with Pastor Don Wentz officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Houghton Chapel of The Osgood Funeral Homes, in Ovid. Gladys Sophie Johnston
Gladys Sophie (Sillman) Johnston, age 91, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Hazel Findlay Nursing Home in St. Johns, Michigan. She was born on September 8, 1919 in Fowler, Michigan, daughter of Frederick and Mary Epkey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Clarence Sillman, who she married on May 24, 1939; her second husband Marion Johnston; brother Louis and sisters, Dorothy and Eunice.
Surviving are her son David (Sue) Sillman of Big Rapids, their daughters Jennifer (Dan) Hickey of Lake Odessa and Sunny (Steve) Mondrella of Big Rapids, and her daughter Rhonda Sillman of Dewitt, her children, Jeremy Sillman, Christopher Deline both of Lansing and Dustin Alcaraz of St. Johns, her sister Helen (Paul) Fox of Fowler and her brother Neil Epkey (Joyce) of Fowler, twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral liturgy will be held 11:00a.m., Thursday, August 11, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Fowler, Michigan, with Pastor Paul Clark presiding. Rite of committal will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Goerge Chapel of The Osgood Funeral Homes in Fowler, Michigan. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fowler, Michigan.
Aurora Martinez
Aurora Martinez, died August 4, 2011, at the age of 87. Born May 25, 1924, in Casis, TX. The daughter of Bonifacio and Sinforosa (Sequra) Salinas. Aurora married Napoleon Martinez, July 4, 1942 in Detroit, MI and he precedes her death.
Aurora is survived by her daughters, Elodia Keys, Erma (Aaron) Moreno, Gloria Castello, sons, Napoleon Jr. (Liz) Martinez, David (Libby) Martinez, 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, sisters, Irene Medina, Eleanor Soliz, Eva Mata, Mary Zamaripa, Esther Dasaldua, Margaret Kosinski, Joanne Palacio, and brothers, Francisco Salinas and Adam Salinas. Aurora was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ovid, with Fr. Raymond Urbanek presiding and burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, 5-8 p.m. and Monday, 12-8 p.m. with rosaries being prayed at 7 p.m., at the Houghton Chapel of The Osgood Funeral Homes in Ovid.
