Jay A. Cressman, age 43, of St. Johns, MI passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at his home.
A Memorial Service will be held at East Washington United Brethren Church, Ashley, MI on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Steve Summerfield officiating. The family will receive friends at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 2-5 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 at the church.
Jay was born in Owosso, Michigan on June 15, 1968, the son of Gary A. and Joyce J. (Langdon) Cressman. He has worked in production at the Delta Plant of General Motors since April of 1995. Jay enjoyed golfing and bowling and spending time with family.
He is survived by his parents Gary and Joyce Cressman of Prudenville, MI, 3 brothers; James and Brenda Cressman of St. Johns, MI, Todd Cressman of St. Johns, MI, Scott and Donna Cressman of Dewitt, MI, sister Dawn and Daniel Malek of Ithaca, MI, special friend Tracie Behl and her son Ty, several nieces and nephews, one great niece and one great nephew, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jay was preceded in death by his grandparents; Eugene and Alice Langdon and Ernest and Ellen Cressman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Karmanos Cancer Institute, 4100 John R. VE01FS, Detroit, MI 48201 for BMT Graft vs. Host Research. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns Chapel St. Johns, Michigan.
