Alayna Marie Stuart
Our precious, Alayna Marie Stuart passed into the arms of God, November 8, 2011. Born November 8th, the daughter of Brandon and Lindsey Marie (Feldpausch) Stuart.
She is survived by her parents, brothers, Aiden and Wyatt Stuart; grandparents, Lee and Linda Feldpausch of Fowler, Donna and Joel Vozar of St. Johns and Sue Stuart of Pennsylvania; great grandmas, Thelma Miller of St. Johns and Evelyn Eskind of Illinois. Alayna is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Jessica (Shawn) Moore of Orleans, MI, Jason (Wendy) Feldpausch of TX, Sarah (Ryan) Sullivan of Ionia and Chad Feldpausch of TX and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her cousin, Peyton Moore and grandpa, Tracy N. Stuart.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns. Her family will receive friends 6-9 PM Friday evening. Sympathies will be express in a gift to a charity of her family’s choice. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Home.

Brendon Timothy Nurenberg
Brendon Timothy Nurenberg, age 18, passed away on November 7, 2011 as the result of an automobile accident. Brendon was born on September 23, 1993 to Terry and Lisa (Hengesbach) Nurenberg. Brendon was known for his big heart. He loved children and often babysat for his younger cousins. He was a very affectionate person, never leaving a family gathering without giving his grandparents a hug, kiss and an “I Love You”. He enjoyed hunting (having bagged a doe this bowseason), trapping, golfing, fantasy football, spending time at Chippewa Lake, and being with his family and friends. Brendon was very athletic and excelled as a member of the Pewamo-Westphalia Varsity Baseball Team. Brendon joins his infant brother and his “Grandpa Louie” Hengesbach at the gates of Heaven.
Along with his parents, he will be sadly missed by his two best friends loving brothers Clayton and Logan Nurenberg; special friend, Kelsey Pung; his adoring grandparents Evelyn Hengesbach and Ron and Bev Nurenberg; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; He also leaves behind his cat, Manny.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James Conlon at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m., Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St. The rosaries will be prayed at 8 p.m., Wednesday and 3 p.m., Thursday. We would like to express our extreme gratitude to the staff at Sparrow Hospital. A special thanks goes to his wonderful and compassionate nurses, Katrina and Karen. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.
Robert F. Eldridge
Robert F. Eldridge, age 96, died November 7, 2011. Born on September 6, 1915 in Breckenridge, MI, the son of Fred and Clara Eldridge (Miller). Robert was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fowler, Michigan and Trinity Lutheran Church in Bay City, MI. He was married to the late Bertha Marie Tiedt in May 1943 in Fowler, MI.
Robert and Bertha had five sons, Robert (Sherrie) Eldridge of Fishers, IN, the late Douglas Eldridge, William (Barbara) Eldridge of Midland, MI, John (Mary Jo) Eldridge of Mason, MI, and Michael (Marianne Ahokas) Eldridge of Arcata, CA., nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Eldridge and five siblings: Bernice, Evard, Hugh, Merton, and Bertha (VanRossum) Eldridge.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fowler, with Pastor Paul Clark officiating. The family will receive friends at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to funeral. Dennis G. Kindel
Dennis G. Kindel, 67, passed away November 6, 2011. Born September 26, 1944, in St. Johns. The son of Charles and Sylvia (Coffield) Kindel. Dennis married Nancy Elliott on, April 26, 1965 in Maple Rapids and she survives him.
Dennis is also survived by two sons, Norm (Shari) Kindel of St. Johns, Dion Kindel of Maple Rapids, two brothers, Roger (Nicky) Kindel, Marlin (Mona) Kindel, six grandchildren, Tiara (Ronnie) Schantz, Jordan Kindel, Dillon Kindel, Braden Kindel, Cody Kindel, McKenna Kindel, as well as many nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, James Kindel.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Maple Rapids United Methodist Church, with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating. Burial will follow at Payne Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maple Rapids United Methodist Church.

Jean S. Austin
Jean S. Austin, 93 of St. Johns, formerly of Ovid died Monday, November 7, 2011 in Adrian, MI. Jean was born on June 17, 1918 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Jacob and Adriana (Neil) Smit. Jean married O. David Austin on Nov. 29, 1936 in South Bend, IN. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1970 as did a her children Sandra Church, Sue Ellen Gilmore and Douglas Austin. Jean enjoyed doing stained glass work, porcelain dolls, plants, sewing. She had formerly been a member of the Ovid Acme Society, was a 4-H leader and member of the Eastern Stars. Jean had been a vendor at Lansing City Market for several years.
he is survived by daughter, Sally (Bill) Coohon of North Port, MI; Grandchildren, Debra Church, Darrell Church, James Coohon, Andrew Coohon, Matthew Coohon, Robert Coohon, Lori Althouse and Douglas Austin II; 8 Great grandchildren and several Great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday evening, 4-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home St. Johns on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 with Chaplin Cheryl Coulter officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid. Memorial contributions may be made to Polycystic Kidney Foundation.
Bernadine “Joan” Martin
Bernadine “Joan” Martin passed away, November 6, 2011 at the age of 85. Born June 29, 1926 in Easton Township, Ionia County, Michigan the daughter of John E. and Reta I. (Smith) Smith. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Life Member of the Order of Eastern Star. Joan married William J. Martin, April 13, 1943 and he preceded her in death July 12, 1974.
She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Ball, Janet (Dennis) Scott and Carol (Dennis) Wright, all of St. Johns, six grandchildren, Andrew (Brenda) Ball of Spring Lake, Sara (Patrick) Boettger of St. Johns, William (Kendra) Scott of St. Johns, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Tillmann of Holland, Nicholas (Torrie) Sholty of St. Johns, and Kim Switzer of Sheridan, 17 great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Sara Smith of Tampa, Florida In addition to her husband, Joan was preceded in death by two great granddaughters, Angel Boettger, and Emma Tillmann, as well as one brother, Lloyd Smith.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Pastor Lori Sykes officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
