Gary L. Foster
Gary L. Foster passed away from us to be with his Lord, Jesus on Monday January 2, 2012 at the age of 68. He was born August 11, 1943 in Lansing, MI the son of Frederick and Thelma (Welton) Foster. Gary was a lifelong resident of DeWitt leaving only to serve three years with the U.S. Army in Europe. He was employed by Motor Wheel Corporation as a quality control inspector, retiring after 30 years of service. He was also proud to be a fireman with the DeWitt City Fire Department for 30 years. Gary had a love of the outdoors, especially pheasant hunting, deer hunting and fishing.
He is survived by Heidi his wife of 45 years; three sons, Jeffrey (Lona), Ricky, and Chad (Nicole); four grandchildren, Kelsey Foster, Samantha Foster, Harlee Foster and Zack Lessner; three brothers, Roger (Judy), Ronald, and Dennis; two sisters, Diane (David) Watts, Linda (Michael) Timmons; brother-in-law Harold (Pat) Graber; aunt, Ruth Foster and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, one sister, Marlene Graber and one brother, Dale.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2012 at St. Peter Lutheran Church 8990 Church Rd. St. Johns with Pastor Roger Straub officiating. Memorials may be made to DeWitt Area Emergency Services Authority 911 W. Main DeWitt, MI 48820. The family was assisted with these arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns


Amanda L. Garrod

Amanda L. Garrod, 21 of St. Johns, MI went to be with her Lord on December 31, 2011. Amanda was born on November 1, 1990 in St. Johns the daughter of Randy Garrod and Jennifer (Johnson) Garrod. She graduated from St. Johns High School in 2009 and currently was working at Wal-Mart in St. Johns as a cashier. Amanda was attending the Community Christian Church. She was always smiling, a loving mother and daughter and friend to many people.
She is survived by her parents, Randy Garrod of St. Johns and Jennifer Garrod of DeWitt, daughter, Anya Garrod-Malkin of St. Johns, sister Emily Garrod of St. Johns, fiancé Ethan Malkin of St. Johns, grandmothers Gail Deline of DeWitt and Sharon Johnson of Hart, MI, many aunts, uncles and cousins and her extended family, the Geiger-Malkin families.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Thursday, January 5, 2012, 4-8 P.M. Memorial services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Tyler Barlage officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the family.


John Kurncz
John Kurncz, age 89, of Bradenton, Florida died December 25, 2011 at Tidewell Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, 4635 26th Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34207 on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with family visitation at 10:00a.m. and a luncheon to follow.
John was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to St. Johns, Michigan as an infant. His parents were John and Anna (Mamrila) Kurncz. He married Helen Martis on September 27, 1947. Together they operated mint farms, first in Michigan and then in Wisconsin until their retirement in 1977. After retirement, they became full-time Florida residents. John was an avid antique tool collector and a member of the MidWest Tool Collectors Association. He was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church.
John is survived by his wife Helen Kurncz of Bradenton, Florida; a son, Kenneth (Christine) Kurncz of Northville, Michigan; and a daughter, Angela Kurncz of Seattle, Washington; together with two grandsons, John Andrew “Andy” (Cori) Kurncz of Fenton, Michigan; and Jeffrey Kurncz of Northville, Michigan; and two great-granddaughters, Lauren Kurncz; and Kaitlyn Kurncz of Fenton, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Anne Wrobel.
