Coleta Grace Stearns
Coleta Grace Stearns died, January 11, 2012, at the age of 105. She was born in Pompeii, Michigan on October 27, 1906, the daughter of Claude Orville and Allie Annette (Peet) Davis. Coleta married Hubert J. Stearns on April 8, 1933 and he preceded her in death January 23, 1995. She loved to do daily crossword puzzles.
She is survived by two sons, Lloyd (Janet) Stearns of Saline and Duane Stearns of Grand Rapids, four grandchildren, Claudette (Steven) Weaver of Dexter, Michael (Marie) Stearns of Grand Rapids, Lisa (Brian) Lancaster of Jenison and Sharleen Stearns of Milan, six great grandchildren, Sarah and Spencer Weaver, Amelie and Nathan Stearns and Tyler and Jake Lancaster. In addition to her husband, Coleta was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Susan Brososky, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Stearns and brother, Aubrey Davis.
Funeral Services will be, 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Union Home Cemetery with Rev. Lori Sykes officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, 9 a.m. till 12 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Norma J. (“Jackie”) Brown
Norma J. (“Jackie”) Brown, age 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 8th, 2012. Jackie was born on February 16th, 1923, in Carnegie, PA to Alexander and Margaret (Hanna) Carey. After graduating from High School, she worked in a Latrobe, PA factory where she built detonators for the war effort. She married Paul Harrison Clark (“Buddy”) on July 14th, 1946. They were very happily married until Buddy’s early death at the age of 40. Jackie was a loving wife, a doting mother, and a dedicated homemaker.
Surviving are her son, Pastor Paul (Elizabeth) Clark of Fowler and daughter Ronna McIntosh of Clarkston, and grandchildren Alexander, Thaddeus, and Abigail Clark, and Ashley McIntosh. Also surviving her are her brother, Ray (Joan) Carey of W. Salem, OH, sister Audrey Gillespie of Las Vegas, NV, niece Barbara Carey of Fallbrook, CA, best friend, Emma (Mike) Florescu of Taylor, MI, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Also preceding Jackie in death was her sister June.
Jackie was a member of St. Trinity Lutheran Church in Clarkston and most recently of St.Paul Lutheran Church in Fowler. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 11, 2012 at 11:00 a m at the church.

Guy Snyder, Jr.
Guy Snyder, Jr., age 84, passed away January 8, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. Guy was born in Montcalm County, Michigan on September 11, 1927, the son of Guy and Esther (Simmons) Snyder. Guy married Mary E. Miller in Eaton Rapids, Michigan on November 17, 1946 and she preceded him in death on June 11, 2002. Guy worked boning beef for the Rosevale Corp., then retired from his self-owned service station. He was an avid and dedicated bowler in St. Johns, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Eureka Christian Church.
Surviving are his daughters, Elaine Snyder, Marlene (Alan) Harris and Sheila (Russell) Waggoner, all of St. Johns; grandchildren, Christopher (Peggy) Snyder of Fowler, Nikki (Karry) Shears and Hali (John) Mehney all of St. Johns; great grandchildren, Jessica, Zachary, Jared, Kyle and Ryan Snyder, Hunter Shears and Lain Mehney; sisters, Barbara Hawkins of Owosso, Donnis Redman of Lansing, Ellen (Everett) Martens of St. Johns, Carolee (James) Fenner of Troy and Clara (Bob) Lewis of Perrinton and brother, Richard (Annette) Snyder of St. Johns. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Lani Waggoner and sister, Mae O’Connell.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Eureka Christian Church, burial at Eureka Cemetery with Pastor Keith Whipple officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to Eureka Christian Church. Janice May Todosciuk
Janice May Todosciuk, age 76, passed away on January 7, 2012 at Sparrow Hospice House in Lansing, Michigan from Diabetes and Congestive Heart Failure. Janice was born June 2, 1935 in St. Johns, Michigan, the daughter of Harry Woodworth and Jeanette Alice (Stevens) Rosekrans. Janice married Frank Todosciuk on March 29, 1958 at Greenbush Methodist Church and they moved onto their farm a year later. She was a 1953 graduate of Rodney B. Wilson High School and was employed by General Telephone in the Service Department. Janice was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a 4H Leader, Clinton County Extension-Country Daisies member, a Youth Leader at Greenbush Methodist Church, a member of the Red Hat Society in Winter Haven, Florida and an active member of Eureka Christian Church and Saddlebag Lake Church (FL).
Janice was always behind a camera at family, community and social events to record the moments in everyones lives. Her flower gardens, both in Michigan and Florida continued to grow beautiful bouquets for friends and neighbors homes. Whenever anyone in the family, a neighbor or her husband needed an errand run, Janice would be on the road in her purple GMC pickup . In the last few years she became the greeter at Andy T’s during the summer months. The entire family camped and traveled the United State and Canada while the children were young. Once they became empty nesters Janice and Frank traveled the world, Alaska and Hawaii were their favorite destinations.
Janice will be dearly missed by her husband of over 53 years, her daughter Annette (Rich) Snyder, sons, Harry (Linda) Todosciuk and Andy (Sunday) Todosciuk; grandchildren, Jena Mae (Jeffrey) Rewerts, Lurah and Jordynn Todosciuk and Andrew (AJ) Todosciuk. Also surviving her are Rich’s children, Sherry Snyder, Rick (Cindy) Snyder and Mike Snyder; Sunday’s daughters, Kristin and Jamie Griffith; great-grandchildren, Jadynn and Jackson Rewerts, Brandy Martinez, Casey Spooner, Becky and Jake Snyder and Michael and Blake Snyder; great great grandchildren, Adrian and Madilynn Martinez, Logan Forbes and Kendal Spooner; sisters-in-law, Margaret and Dorothy Rosekrans and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Janice was preceded by her brothers, Carl and Keith Rosekrans
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2011 at Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns with Pastor Keith Whipple officiating, burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-8 p.m. Tuesday also at the funeral home. Memorials may be expressed to Eureka Cemetery Flower Fund or to the Eureka Christian Church. Katherine M. LaBar
Katherine M. LaBar, 69 died on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. She was born on April 18, 1942 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Vern and Jean (McCload) Stersic. Katherine graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit and on September 1, 1962 she married Lester LaBar in Detroit.
She retired from the State of Michigan Transportation Department as a secretary. Prior to this she worked as a home health aide, in the receiving department for St. Johns Public Schools, as a teacher aide at Central School and as a nurse aide for Dr. DeVore in St. Johns. In retirement, she enjoyed running a houseboat rental business with her husband in DeLand, Florida. Katherine was a 4-H organizational leader, attended Eureka Congregational Church, enjoyed arts and crafts, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren in sporting events and other activities.
She is survived by her husband Lester, daughter, Debra (Jeff) Davis, sons Brian (Amy) and Rick (Angie) LaBar all of St. Johns; grandchildren, Hailey, Bryce, Brennan, Brock, and Callie LaBar and Taylor Davis. She was preceded in death by 1 sister and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 with Pastor Keith Whipple officiating. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House or Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor.
