James D. Bancroft

James “Jim” D Bancroft, died June 18, 2012, at the age of 76. He was born on September 12, 1935 in Clinton County, Michigan. He was the son of Wilbur and Velma (Groves) Bancroft. Jim married Brenda (Blemaster) on February 20, 1998, in Louisville, Kentucky and she survives him.
James is also survived by his sons, Michael (Roxanne McSparen) Bancroft, Steven Bancroft, Craig Bancroft, daughters, Pam Ruth, Bonnie Reed, Brenda Fundenburks, Debbie Spitzley, step-daughters, Julie –Amspoker, Cindy Townsend, Tonya (Kurt) Lake, Holly (Ryan Wheeler) Craig, step-sons, Stevie Swanchara, Gene (Michelle) Swan, Doug Swanchara, Troy LaBar, Mark (Tammy) LaBar, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as his brother, Kurt (Adele) Bancroft. James was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Scott Bancroft, and one brother, Steven Bancroft.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Osgood Funeral Homes in St. Johns, with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating. Burial will follow at Beach Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in St. Johns on Wednesday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. Contributions may be made in James’ memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Michigan.

Margaret C. Bobier
Margaret C. Bobier, 94 of St. Johns, MI went to be with her Lord on June, 17, 2012. Margaret was born on July 6, 1917 in Detour Village, MI the daughter of J. C. and Laura M. (Richard) Ackles. She worked in retail sales and retired from K-Mart in Saginaw, MI. Margaret married Chauncey C. Bobier on June 10, 1934 in Lansing, MI; he preceded her in death in 1987. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, playing cards and jigsaw puzzles, was a member of First United Methodist Church in St. Johns, and was active in the UMW.
She is survived by son James C. (Juanita) Bobier of Commerce Twp., MI; daughters, Ruth E. Lee of Pontiac MI, Janice “Ilene” (Buford) Conn of Tazewell, VA, Phyllis K. (Victor) Flewelling of Detour Village, MI and Paula D. Jager of Owosso, MI; 21 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Helena Burke of Fl and Ann Stephens of MI, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter Carol C. Flewelling, granddaughter Valerie Sue Cole, 2 sisters, Vera Bailey and Gloria Tyson; brothers, Gerald Ackles, Ronald Ackles, Glenn Ackles and Robert Stephens.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Lori Sykes officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of St. Johns (new window fund) and Sparrow Hospice.


Roy A.Harr
Roy A.Harr, age 87, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 16, 2012. Born June 9, 1925 the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Schmitt) Harr and lived most of his life in the Fowler area. He was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Ushers Club, charter and honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, former owner/founder of Harr’s Jewelery, and was a Certified Horologist. On June 26, 1950 he married Arlene Thelen in Fowler and she preceded him in death on March 1, 2000.
Surviving are his children, Alan (Mary Lou) Harr of St. Johns, Elaine (Steve) Kramer of Fowler, LuAnn (Joseph) Bodarko, of Fowler and Roger Harr of Sioux Falls, South Dakota , eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, sister, Mary Jane Thelen, and sisters in law Marian Halfman, Lucille Fox, Eileen Thelen and Betty Thelen. Roy was also preceded in death by sisters, Genevieve Thelen and Sister Romilda Harr and brother Donald Harr.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Dennis Howard presiding. Burial will follow at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Goerge Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 11112 W. Ionia St, Fowler, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Monday with a Rosary being prayed Monday at 3 pm and a Vigil Service at 8 pm. Memorials may be made in Roy’s memory to Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
