Connie L. Griffin
Connie L. Griffin (Price), 56, formerly of St. Johns, Michigan passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 after a two year struggle with Cancer. She was born on December 21, 1955, in St. Johns, Michigan, the daughter of Gerald and Cora (Watson) Price. Connie graduated from St. Johns High School in 1973. Connie had worked over 15 years at the Hitching Post Restaurant located North of St. Johns, The John Henry Printing Company in Lansing and Second Chance Body Armor in Central Lake. She moved to East Jordan, Michigan in 1998 to marry her best friend, her very loving husband, Dave who survives her.
She is also survived by her son, Jeremy Mick and his partner, Will Camp; daughter, Amanda Arrequin; grandsons, Ryan and Logan; her parents, Gerald “Andy” and Cora Price; sisters Terri (Mike) Stoddard, Karen (Dennis) Gillespie and Janet Taylor and her partner Russ Pope; six nieces; five nephews; six great nieces; six great nephews; step son, David (Christy) Griffin; step daughter, Heather Griffin and brother in law, Roger Griffin and his partner Jeannie Massey.
Dave and Connie never left each other or came back to each other without giving “Smooches”. She loved driving her motorcycle, making quilts, gardening, and watching her hummingbirds out her kitchen window.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Rev. David Scott of the Pleasant Valley Free Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in East Jordan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Little Traverse Bay, American Cancer Society or Susan G. Komen Foundation. Online condolences may be sent to www.penzienfh.com.
Bobbie E. Reed
Bobbie E. Reed, 88 of St. Johns passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Hazel Findlay Country Manor where she had been a resident for the last 4 years. Bobbie was born on June 18, 1924 in Dalton, GA the daughter of George and Martha (Trimble) Templeton. She graduated from Wyandotte, MI High School and on June 14, 1943 she married Harold B. Reed in Stark, Florida. Together they celebrated 69 years of marriage. Bobbie was a homemaker and had been the organist at First United Methodist Church for several years and had helped in the law office of her husband. She had been active in the St. Johns Music Club.
She is survived by her husband, Harold B. Reed; nephew Jon Toohey of Alger, MI and cousin Deborah Wright of Rocky Face, GA. Bobbie was preceded in death by her sister Maxine Toohey.
Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 16, 2012 with Rev. Matt Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 15, 2012. 3-6 P.M. Memorials may be given to Hazel Findlay Country Manor.
