Janet R. Loucks
Janet R. Loucks, age 72, died on February 9, 2014. She was born in Detroit on September 3, 1941, the daughter of Samuel and Ruth (Steiner) Little. Janet married Patrick Loucks on June 12, 1965 and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2011.
She is survived by her son, Christopher (Denise) Loucks of St. Johns, 7 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Zak) Hood, Nathan, Ryan, Samantha, Megan, Ethan and Justin Loucks, 3 great grandchildren, Jaysen, Evan and Derrick Hood, sister, Nancy (William) Schultz and many nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband Patrick and son, John Loucks.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Williams presiding. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Janet’s name to St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
Florence A. Cornell
Florence A. Cornell, 83, of Ovid, MI died on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Ovid Healthcare Center. Florence was born on August 24, 1930 in Flint, MI the daughter of Howard and Alma (Newman) Tolles. She married George Cornell on October 25, 1947 in St. Johns, MI and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1995. Florence was a production worker at Motor Products in Owosso, MI retiring in 1947. Florence attended the First Church of God, loved her family, friends, cooking, baking, jigsaw puzzles and fishing in the U.P.
She is survived by daughters, Arlene (John) Pesik and Joyce, (Carl) Zarzyski both of Ovid and son Kenneth (Marsha) Cornell of Jasper, GA; grandchildren, Jason (Karen) Cornell, Erin (Brad) Barnett, Bruce (Katherine) Pesik and Adam (Nicki) Zarzyski. 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother, James Tolles and sisters, Marjorie Bouck and Barbara Roy.
Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home in St. Johns on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be at South Bingham Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Thursday, February 13, 2014, 2-7 P.M. Memorials may be given to OMESA, 114 E. Front St., Ovid, MI 48866.
Allen Lee Janes
Allen Lee Janes, age 58, of Ovid, MI passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI, on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 10:00 A.M., with Pastor Tim Dickinson officiating. Burial will take place at Fairfield Township Cemetery, Fairfield Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 3-8 PM. at the funeral home.
Allen was born in Owosso, Michigan on May 3, 1955, the son of Delmar Ford and Jeannie Eleanor (Hancock) Janes. On February 28, 1998 he married Erica Maron in Ovid, Michigan and resided most of his life in Ovid, Michigan. He had worked for Motor Wheel & All Par Peet. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing and radio control airplanes and cars; he was an avid NASCAR fan and he especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He attended First Baptist Church, Ovid, MI.
He is survived by his wife Erica Janes of Ovid, MI, children; Kathy Wells of Owosso, MI, Jason Janes of Owosso, MI, Mark Janes of Owosso, MI, Cassandra Janes of Ovid, MI, Zachery Janes of Ovid, MI, grandchildren; Brandon, Justin, Jessica, and Dakota, sisters; Kathie and Harry Hawn of Ovid, MI, Dawn Janes of Flint, MI, brother Delmar Janes of St. Johns, MI, and nephew Ryan Janes of St. Johns, MI. He was predeceased by his parents.
The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, Michigan.
