Jonathon R. Wadsworth
Jonathon R. Wadsworth died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the age of 22. He was born December 2, 1991 in Cincinnati, OH the son of Steven and Sharon (Watts) Wadsworth. Jonathon was a graduate of St. Johns High School, Class of 2010 and member of a group that played Dungeons and Dragons. Jonathon was currently a student at Central Michigan University.
Surviving are his mother, Sharon of St. Johns; step – grandmother, Lois Wadsworth of Ovid and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Steven in 2009.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church 511 E. Sturgis, St. Johns with Rev. George Brinley officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 1755 Abbey Rd. Barbara June Carter
Barbara June Carter, 86 of St. Johns, MI died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at Hospice House of Mid Michigan in Lansing. Barbara was born on September 27, 1927 in Concord, NH the daughter of Edward P. and Lilly E. (Rowland) Moy. She married Thomas F. Carter on June 8, 1946 in Concord, NH. Barbara enjoyed making dolls and selling at craft shows with her husband Tom and his wooden toys. She also enjoyed doing food sampling demonstrations at local stores. She was also a dog breeder of Shelties with her husband, Tom. Barbara enjoyed the many bus tours to casinos where she made many friends.
Barbara is survived by sons, Thomas (Karen) Carter of Las Vegas, NV, Richard (Kelly) Carter of Buffalo, NY; daughters Karen (Roger) Shultz of Ovid, MI, Kitty (Keith) Beard of Cleveland, TN and Claire Carter of St. Johns, MI; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a sister Connie Yelsik of Ashley, MI, sister-in-law Jeanne Carter of Oregon. Special friends and neighbors Russ and Pat Slagell. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Thomas Carter, her parents Edward and Lilly Moy, and sister Annie Moy.
Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating. Burial will follow at South Bingham Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.
Gene Edward Craig
Gene Edward Craig, age 84, died March 20, 2014. He was born on January 20, 1930 in Fulton Twp., the son of Vern and Reba (Underwood) Craig. Gene attended Maple Rapids Congregational Christian Church and The Wesleyan Church of Eaton Rapids. He is a Veteran who served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of VFW Post #3733. He worked for WCI for 32 years and farmed. His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Gene is survived by his children, Lavonna (John) Evans of Eaton Rapids, Karen (Doug) Bosworth of Eaton Rapids, Jonothan (Julie) Craig of Perrinton and Kimberly Craig of NC., 7 grandchildren, Lynnsilee (Alex) Evans-Lado, Jon-Paul Craig, Elise Evans, Brienna Bosworth, Craig Bosworth, Amanda Craig and Ethan Craig, siblings, Carol Barton, Joyce (Joe) VanSickle, Jack Craig, Gaylord Craig, Jim (Shirley) Craig and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clare (Mary) Craig and sister, Dorothy (Roy) Shook.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Maple Rapids Congregational Christian Church with Pastor Jerry Kissling officiating, interment to follow at Payne Cemetery with Military services provided by Post #3733. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Goerge Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 11112 W. Ionia St., Fowler.
