Gerald A. Trierweiler
Gerald A. Trierweiler Westphalia Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather left us to be with the Lord after a courageous two year battle with pancreatic cancer on October 4, 2010 at the age of 79. He was born the last son of Herman and Caroline Trierweiler in 1931. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Westphalia in 1949. He went on to join the Army during the Korean War where he was a Master Sergeant with the Fifth Regimental Combat Team. He earned three battle stars in his service to our country. Jerry was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters, the Westphalia Band, VFW Post #3733, and the American Legion Post #153. He was the founder and former owner of the Trierweiler Insurance Agency, Inc., until he sold the business to his son in 1996. The insurance business was his hobby and he never really left it. Jerry married his High School sweetheart Jeanette Wieber in 1952, he was blessed with 58 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Donald Trierweiler; brother-in-law Louis Wieber.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanette; children, Michael (Brenda) Trierweiler, Wendy (Mark) Thelen, Debra (Michael) Wieber, Terry (Geralyn) Trierweiler, and Thomas (Yvonne) Trierweiler; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother Stanley (Dorothy) Trierweiler; sister JoAnn (David) Spitzley; sisters-in-law, Germaine Trierweiler, Eileen Trierweiler, Christine Piggott, Peg Wieber, and Sr., Ann Terrence; brother-in-law Stanley (Linda) Wieber; many nieces and nephews. He was a friend to all who knew him and will be sorely missed by all of us.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. James Conlon, at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia with Rite of Committal following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia. The family will receive friends at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday. The rosaries will be prayed at 8 p.m. Tuesday and 3 and 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Complete arrangements are with the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.
Julia E. Lonier
Julia E. Lonier, age 94, of DeWitt went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 3, 2010. Mrs. Lonier was born in Fowlerville, MI to Charles and Tressa (Foldenauer) Doherr on July 12, 1916. She married Lewis Lonier on June 25, 1938. Mrs. Lonier was a past charter member of St. Therese Catholic Church and a member of the Secular Franciscan Order.
Surviving are her children, Charles (Rosella) Lonier, Catherine (Robert) Fedewa, Theresa (William) Hankins, Harold (Linda) Lonier, Thomas Robert Lonier, and Margaret (Richard) Toomey; 13 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis and sister, Katherine Trierweiler.
Visitation is from 2-4, 6-8 P.M. Tuesday with a Rosary service at 7:00 P.M. in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Liturgy is 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 6, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. John P. Klein and Fr. Jeffrey Njus presiding. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday at church. Rite of committal St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mother Teresa House or Hospice Advantage in memory of Mrs. Lonier.
Cletis M. Coble
Cletis M. Coble, age 82, passed away October 1, 2010 in Ionia. Cletis was born April 10, 1928 in Gratiot County, the son of Ellery and Ethel (Ferguson) Coble. Cletis married Maybelle Swain on December 1, 1974 and she preceded him in death on July 23, 1998.
Surviving him are children, Dennis Coble of Oak Hill, Florida, Patricia (Gerald) Kline of Eagle, Martha (Tony) Schmitz of Pewamo, Mark (Jana) Coble of Columbus, Nebraska, Allen (Mary) Coble of Ionia, Bill Coble of Oak Hill, FL, Don (Sheila) Iszler, Nashville, MI, John (Connie) Iszler of Grand Ledge, Susan (Mark) Swain of Nashville, MI, 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Along with his wife, Cletis was preceded in death by his parents and 4 sisters.
Funeral Services will be 11 AM Monday, October 4, 2010 at the Goerge Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 11112 W. Ionia St., Fowler, burial at Beebe Cemetery in Gratiot County following the luncheon with Pastor David Hudgens officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Constance E. Parmenter
Constance E. “Connie” Parmenter, 84 of Owosso, formerly of Ovid died Friday, October 01, 2010. She was born on December 19, 1925 in Owosso, MI the daughter of Clarence and G. Helene (Reed) Byerly. Connie graduated from Owosso High School in 1943 and worked for J. Edgar Hoover at the FBI in Washington, D.C., Michigan Milk Producers, Vaughn Seed Co., Dr. Jack Bates and along with her husband at Al Par Peat Co. She married Robert Parmenter on Nov. 20, 1946 in Ovid. He preceded her in death in 1991, as did son Scott in 1981 and infant daughter Nancy Ellen in 1956. She enjoyed crafts, reading, cards and her grandchildren.
She is survived by daughter, Brenda (Bob) Casteel of Durand, MI, sons Douglas and Brian (Janet) Parmenter both of Ovid; grandchildren, Danielle (Jeff) Campbell and Derek Parmenter both of Owosso; great grandchildren, Hailee, Dannika and Kaela Campbell, brother in law, Kenneth (Marge) Parmenter of Ovid.
The family will receive friends at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns, on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Greg Buchner officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid. Memorial contributions may be made to Ovid-Elsie Community Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
