Maxine L. Walton
Maxine L. Walton, died November 18, 2010, at the age of 91. Born in Bingham Twp., on April 7, 1919, the daughter of John and Anna (Wekenman) Doyle. Maxine was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She married Chester Walton on June 10, 1941, and he preceded her in death April, 24, 1999.
Surviving her is son, Dale (Joann) Walton of St. Johns, daughters, Bette (Jim) Potts of Conklin, MI, and Jean Walton of Haslett, seven grandchildren, Mike (Beth) Potts, Matt (Lisa) Potts, Marie (John) Geerlings, Aaron (Karla) Potts, Greg (Maureen) Walton, Scott (Krista) Walton and Angie (Chris) Richards, sixteen great grandchildren, Molly, Ryan, Zach, Cody, Justin, Ivy Mae, Riley, Fisher, Trent, Samantha, Logan, Ethan, Kimberly, Jessi, Madison and Sarah, also many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Chester, she was preceded in death by, three sisters, Geraldine Stewart, Margaret Dershem and Julia Jury, two brothers, Gaylord and Raymond Doyle.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating, burial to follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Osgood Funeral Home, Friday 4 -8 p.m., with a Vigil Service held at 7 p.m. Contributions may be made in memory of Maxine to the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.


Marcie Jo Straub
Marcie Jo Straub, 5-month-old daughter of Howard R. and Jamie (Woodhams) Straub III of Fredericktown, Ohio died Wednesday November 17, 2010 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus following a brief illness. Marcie was born June 24, 2010 in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Surviving besides her parents are her sisters Marie Josephine, Heidi Jo and Hollie Jo all of the home; grandparents Howard R and Mary Jo Straub Jr. and Jack and Sharon Woodhams all of Saint Johns, Michigan; great grandparents Phyllis Gilroy and Dick and Marie Woodhams all of Saint Johns, Michigan and Inez Giles of Leslie Michigan. Marcie was preceded in death by great grandparents Howard R and Dorothy Straub Sr., John Bappert, Robert Gilroy and Richard Carlson.
Friends may call Sunday November 21, 2010 from 1pm to 3pm at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 East College Street, Fredericktown, Ohio 43019. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday November 23, 2010 from 11am to 2pm at the First Church Of God, 1063 South Dewitt Road, Saint Johns, Michigan 48879. Funeral services will be Tuesday following the visitation at the church and burial will follow at Lowe Cemetery near Saint Johns.

LeRoy Jay Simpson
LeRoy Jay Simpson, age 82, of St. Johns, MI passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Clinton Memorial Hospital, St. Johns.
Funeral Services will be held at the Duplain Church of Christ, St. Johns on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Mr. Chuck Emmert will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday November 12, 2010 from 2-8 PM with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns Chapel.
LeRoy was born in Bingham Township, Michigan on March 8, 1928, the son of Oral and Ilene (Martin) Simpson. LeRoy resided most of his life in St. Johns. LeRoy married Helen Simon on September 25, 1951 in Lansing, MI. He attended the Duplain Church of Christ, St. Johns. LeRoy retired from GTE. He enjoyed going to the Big Boy Restaurant for breakfast and just loved going out to eat. Spending time with his family was a very important part of his life. LeRoy also had a special fondness for polka music.
He is survived by his wife Helen Simpson of St. Johns, MI, 3 sons; Gary and Margaret Simpson of St. Johns, MI, Vaughn and Darlene Simpson of St. Johns, MI, Craig Simpson and Ellen Watson of Elsie, MI, 8 grandchildren; Steven, Nathann, Brandi, Erica, Jeffery, Kevin, Levon and Ariel, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Genevieve Martin of Fowler, MI, Harriett and Donald Hier of Ovid, MI, and special friends Mac and Kelly Williams of St. Johns, MI. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Leon and 2 sisters; Betty and Shirley.

Kenneth R. Larsen
Kenneth R. Larsen, died November 10, 2010, at the age of 29. Born, October 2, 1981, the son of Jim and Mary Jane (Salters) Larsen. Ken worked at Mahle in St. Johns. He had a passion for his daughter, Alexa, and life itself. Ken will be greatly missed by his family and many dear friends.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Alexa Motz, parents Jim and Kathleen Larsen, sisters, Elizabeth (Bill) Brantley, Nikki Crowell, Loretta (Neil) Fedewa, brothers, Jim (Elaine) Larsen, Matt Larsen, Michael Larsen, Ron (Christina) Larsen and Jake Monestersky, grandmother, Hazel “Marietta” Larsen, many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, Sharon Stokes, and also, honorary grandmother, Sharla “G.G.” Stokes. Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane, grandparents, Stewart and Mary Anne Salters and grandfather, Eugene Larsen.
A Memorial Service will be held for Ken at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, November 18, 2010, at the Osgood Funeral Home, with Pastor Kathy Leydorf officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday. Contributions may be made to the Alexa Motz Trust Fund.
