Janice Weber
Janice Weber, called Janie by almost all who knew her, our loving sister, “our Chunice,” went to her heavenly home on January 18, 2011. She, throughout her time with us, was an example to her family and others of what is truly important and enduring in this life and beyond. Although developmentally disabled from her birth on April 28, 1942, Janie joyfully participated in a wide range of activities and travel, accompanied mostly by one or all of her four sisters, and in some instances with their growing children.
Janie is survived by sister, Gladys Heckman, Rosemary (Gary) Thelen, Dee Dee (Larry) Hoppes, Colleen, a.k.a., Beaner (Gordon) Hoppes, and brothers, Stanley, William, (Bonnie), and Paul (Sharon) Weber, as well as 16 nieces and nephews, 15 grand-nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins. Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Roberta (Smith) Weber, as well as Joseph, their first-born.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler with Fr. Dennis Howard presiding and interment at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery following the Mass. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. Friday, with the rosary being prayed at 3p.m. and a vigil at 8 p.m., at the Goerge Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes in Fowler.
A major portion of money donated will go to the Most Holy Trinity Educational Trust Fund, with the remainder to be dispersed according to the wishes of the family. The family was serviced by Osgood Funeral Homes.
Craig A. Linzey
Craig A. Linzey died Friday, January 14, 2011 at the age of 19. He was born April 14, 1991 in Lansing, Michigan the son of Kurt and Nora (Ruddy) Linzey. He was a graduate of St. Johns High School, Class of 2009 and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Craig served in the U.S. Air Force, loved working with wood, trout fishing, deer hunting and spending time outdoors looking at the wonders of nature.
Surviving is his father, Kurt; one brother, Cory; one sister, Whitney; grandparents, Merle Linzey of New Lothrop, Maurice and Betty Ruddy of Chesaning; aunts, Shelly Linzey of New Lothrop, Nancy Ruddy of Holt, Annette (Joe) Simaz of Fennville, and Cathy Wilson of Atlanta, GA; uncles Kevin Ruddy of Kalamazoo and Steve (Brenda) Ruddy of Eagle. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janet Linzey and his mother Nora Linzey.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30AM Thursday, January 20, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 109 Linden St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will take place at 3:00PM at Elmwood Cemetery in New Lothrop. The family will receive relatives and friends 2:00 to 8:00PM Wednesday with a vigil service at 7:00PM at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or School. Friends may share memories, thoughts and prayers at www.keckcolemanfh.com.
Nora K. Linzey
Nora K. Linzey died Friday, January 14, 2011 at the age of 49. She was born January 30, 1961 in Owosso, Michigan the daughter of Maurice and Betty (Streng) Ruddy. She was a graduate of New Lothrup High School, Class of 1979 and attended Mott Community College. Nora was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was an assistant 5th and 6th grade basketball coach at St. Joseph Catholic School and was devoted to her family and her faith. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking and sharing what she baked with family and friends. She worked as a dental hygienist and loved vacationing in and around Petoskey, Michigan. On July 30, 1982 she married Kurt Linzey and he survives her.

Donald G. Babcock
Donald G. Babcock, age 80, died January 17, 2011. Born in Middlebury Township, Michigan December 8, 1930, the son of William G. and Eva Mae (VanGiesen) Babcock. He was a retired farmer and former owner/operator of Babcocks Owosso Radiator. Don married Joyce Verlin Vincent on April 6, 1951 and she preceded him in death on February 10, 2008 after 56 years of marriage.
Don is survived by three children, Luann Babcock of Grand Ledge, Duane Babcock of Potterville and Tim (Marcy) Babcock of Charlotte,and one son in law, Richard Volz of DeWitt. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kyle(Jen), Stacy, Mitchel, Andrew, Kimberly, and Candice, great grandchildren, Kody, Ryder, Gracie, Taylor and Gabrielle . In addition to his wife Joyce, Don was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Volz and parents.
There will be no services as his wishes were to be cremated. Memorials may be made to Eaton Community Hospice, 2675 South Cochran, Charlotte, MI. 48813. Arrangements made by Osgood Funeral Homes, St. Johns.
Dorothy Carson
Dorothy Carson, 85, of St. Johns, retired Clinton county clerk, died Nov. 28, 2010.
