Introducing Grand River Rover Rescue
DJ Freeman is the Director for this organization that is located in Lyons, Michigan. I have transported to this Rescue and the conditions there are very good, clean, great kennels, and lots of TLC. This serves Ionia County and surrounding areas.
Their mission being a small boarding kennel providing an alternative to the local animal shelter for dog owners who must surrender their pets. The kennel helps rescued dogs by providing temporary housing until a foster home or adapter can be found. These efforts are completely non-profit.
Help is also needed from other rescue organizations to be able to send pitbulls, beagles, and dogs that do not seem to adopt well in our area. In return, we board dogs for short term interim between rescue and the foster home becoming available.
All persons interested in adopting or fostering must complete our Adoption/Foster Applications for screening. Once approved, adopters must sign an Adoption Contract and pay the rehoming fee. This fee is to reimburse our organization for vet expenses and to fund the next dog who needs our help. Approved foster applicants must first pass a home visit prior to joining our team. We provide vetting and food for our fostered dogs. If the foster home decides to adopt the pet, then you will pay the rehoming fee and complete an adoption contract.
Ways To Help: they are in need of good quality dog food, volunteers to help at adoption events, help cleaning fixtures once/month, dog walkers, media advertisement and Foster Homes.
Please contact this organization if you are able to do any of the above mentioned things there are in need of.
