Maralyn's Pet Corner

Meet Eloise and Maddie-Chi
My name is Ms. Eloise, my foster mama also calls me Ms. Ellie. I am roughly 10 yrs old, I am a mystery mix breed spayed female, and I weigh 43 lbs.
Do you know what its like to be unwanted? I do.
Do you know what its like to be forgotten? I do.
Do you know what its like to be unloved? I do.
My old family cared so little for me that when I came down with bad ear infections, they didn’t take me to a doctor or maybe they never even noticed. They let my ears get so bad with infection that it has affected my hearing. I was in so much pain for a very long time. I also have a severe allergy to fleas which made all my hair fall out on my back and hind legs. It went untreated for so long that it gave me a bacterial skin infection. I was soooo itchy and sore.
A nice lady found me and called APB for help. The people at APB took me right to the vet and put me on antibiotics and ear drops. I feel sooo much better now! My hair is even starting to grow back! Unfortunately my hearing isn’t what it should be. I am almost completely deaf. I am having surgery soon to have a growth removed from my eye lid and while I am under the Doctors are going to clean out my ears REALLY good to see if that helps improve my hearing. I sure hope it works!
I am looking for a family with a fenced in yard to keep me safe (or a commitment to keep me on leash at all times when outdoors), a family who will keep me on veterinary prescribed flea prentative, a family who will take me for walks and car rides, and a family that can afford to keep me on joint supplements so I stay comfortable in my senior years. I do enjoy and initiate play with other canine companions.
From Eloise’s foster mom:
Eloise is very food motivated, she loves toys, bones, and Kongs filled with cheese (not peanut butter, she hates it!). She enjoys sleeping on the couch or a huge fluffy comforter in her crate. Eloise is house trained and working on crate training. If you have room in your heart and home for this senior sweetheart, please fill out an application below or email: Hanaburgh@att.net with any further questions. Thank you!

Maddie – Chi
I am just a little bitty dog who came from a puppymill. I am learning about living in a house and even though I have really short little legs, I learned really quickly to jump in my foster mom’s chair so that I can snuggle with her. I learned to run and jump on the chair really fast – if I didn’t get there first, my “brother”, the resident shih tzu, would get there before me and then there wasn’t much room for me.
When there aren’t any humans around, I like to sleep in my crate but if they are going to be gone for just a short time, they let me have the whole kitchen and dining room to explore. I don’t even have any accidents if it isn’t too long. If it does get to be a longer time, then I will use the potty pad my foster mom puts down for me.
When new people come over, I am still a little shy but otherwise I have learned to play with toys and I am really attached to my foster mom. She treats me really good and I love attention and her lap.
If you are looking for a calm little girl who would warm your lap, I would be the perfect dog for you!
