The St. Johns City Park Performance Shell Committee announces that the 2010 POTS Buttons are now on sale. “The sale of these buttons is an important funding source for this summer’s concert series,” states committee chairperson Bill Tennant. “Money from the city, the button sale and the passing of the buckets each Wednesday evening are the only income we receive to present this great concert series to the community.” The Concert in the Park series starts this coming Wednesday, June 16 and concludes on Wednesday, August 25.
This year’s button was designed by local artist, Kallie Sternburgh, a St. Johns High School graduate, who is currently studying art in Denmark. The buttons sell for a $50 tax-deductible donation and are available at the Clinton County Arts Council’s Gallery in downtown St. Johns at 215 N. Clinton and at the Performance Shell each Wednesday at the 7:00 p.m. concerts.
With the $50 donation patrons will receive 2 buttons which they are encouraged to wear to each concert showing their support of the summer series. Also by wearing their button into the St. Johns Big Boy Restaurant on any Wednesday during the summer, patrons will receive 10% off their bill.
The Shell Committee hopes to see a lot of the 2010 buttons worn around town on Wednesdays throughout the summer.
