Are you looking for a fun family activity or a great way to get your exercise and plenty of fresh air?
Join in on the Bike Ride For The Railway Sunday Sept. 28, 2014. The ride begins at 12 Noon, leaving from the Depot in St Johns – 107 Railroad St.
There are four routes to choose from ranging from 5 miles to 60 miles, depending on your stamina. Rides are all on paved surfaces, SAG stops will offer apples, cider and donuts, and a pizza bar at the end of the ride at Main St Pizza, 207 N Clinton Ave., St Johns is included with the registration fees.
Proceeds for the ride will go to the restoration of the vintage railroad cars located at the depot as well as one offsite. That one is a 1902 Barney and Smith wooden sleeper car, named the Sault Ste Marie.
Funds will also benefit the Frederick Meijer Clinton-Ionia-Shiawassee Rail Trail which is due to open officially on October 31, 2014.
Registration before Sept. 1 offers you a savings: $15 Individual – Family $30; from Sept. 1 through the day of the ride: $20 Individual – Family $40. Registration forms and further information are available online at www.clintonnorthernrailway.org
