Light up the Night Against Cancer
Wednesday, June 1st – 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Due to the severe weather we weren’t able to hold our Luminary Ceremony and light the candles in the luminary bags. These bags were set up on the track in honor of, or in memory of, individuals that have battled cancer. These candles were to be burning through the night as we walked the track and as we remembered loved ones lost and celebrate others survivorship.
It is very important to the Relay For Life committee and to the community that we light these candles and remember all of these individuals.
Please plan on joining us as we Light Up The Night Against Cancer on Wednesday, June 1st.
Starting at 7:00 p.m. we will line Clinton Avenue in downtown St. Johns, with these tributes. We will light the candles in these luminary bags and leave them burning until 10:00 p.m.
Most of the bags that were sitting out around the track were destroyed by wind and rain and now new bags need to be decorated. We ask to you stop by Big Boy of St. Johns or various stores downtown St. Johns to pick up luminary bag(s).
Please decorate your bag(s) and bring them downtown on June 1st to be included when we Light Up The Night. If you aren’t able to join us on June 1st, please leave your decorated bags at Big Boy and we will make sure that they are set out.
