Thursday evening, May 22
The St. Johns High School Music Department invites you to join them in a special concert being presented as a fundraiser for the Wilson Center Auditorium project.
The concert will take place on Thursday evening, May 22 in the Wilson Center Auditorium starting at 7:30. It will feature students from all three areas, Band, Choir and Orchestra.
Featured on the program will be the SJHS Jazz Band, a Flute Choir, a String Quartet, the Men’s Chorus and Concert Choir. There will also be individual students performing throughout the evening. St. Johns teachers who put the program together include Roy Davis, Justin Valla, Nichole Eller and Elizabeth Fedewa.
“I am so grateful to everyone involved in this special fundraising program – the teachers and students, all who have taken time out of their busy spring schedule to help us with this project,” says William Tennant, project coordinator. “The great acoustics in this auditorium will show off the performers well.”
The auditorium still needs about $50,000 to fully complete the project. “We have two large projects left to do: the reconstruction of the lighting system and the refurbishing of the rest of the seats, “ Tennant continues. “We are also in the process of purchasing a high powered projector so that we can start showing films in the fall, eventually presenting a Film Festival here in St. Johns.”
The Wilson Center Auditorium is located in downtown St. Johns, just south of the Clinton County Court House. There is a suggested $5 donation for admission with additional funds being graciously accepted.
