Senior Citizens invited to come and Take a Chance

Wednesday, April 23
Are you a senior citizen that is looking for something extra to do? Maybe you have heard about the Clinton County Senior Center but have not been sure if it’s for you. Well, now is the perfect time to check them out because they are having a “Take a Chance Day” on Wednesday, April 23.
On that day from Noon to 3:00 pm they will have a free event that will include lunch (pizza and pasta), easy games of chance and prizes. It will be a great time to get to know other people, take a tour of the center and see what other things they are doing.
The Clinton County Senior Center is located at 201 E Walker Street in St. Johns (corner of Spring and Walker Street, one block north of M21 and one block east of Clinton Avenue). If you are 55 or older and would like to attend the event on the 23rd, please RSVP by Monday, April 21 by calling 989-224-4257. By calling with your RSVP you will ensure they have enough lunch and prizes on hand for the event.
If you can’t come on the 23rd, but would like to still check them out, they are open every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. It’s free to get in to use the exercise room or library, play games, work on a puzzle or just to sit and converse with other seniors.
There is plenty of space at the Senior Center if your card group would like a place to meet each week or if you need a little extra space to do your scrap booking. In addition to the various activities that are planned at the center, lunch meals are served each day they are open.
On Monday’s a public meal is served between 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Anyone of any age is welcome to come to that meal. The cost is only $5 for the full meal or $3 for a sandwich and chips. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday a lunch meal is available to seniors (age 55 and over) at noon. The cost is a suggested $3 donation.
Stop in at the center any time and pick up a monthly calendar so you will know when bingo, Euchre and trivia tournaments will be held. Also, special events planned for the next few months include a Day Trip to a Lugnuts Game, an outdoor picnic and games at Motz Park and a Christmas in July event.
Call the Senior Center at 989-224-4257 if you have any questions.
