The Clinton County Senior Center, located at 201 E Walker Street in St. Johns is excited to announce their continued partnership with the Clinton County Meals on Wheels program. The Senior Center donates space to the Meals on Wheels program in return for a small monthly payment for utilities. The Meals on Wheels program utilizes two offices, along with using kitchen space to package meals, lobby space to hold coolers until picked up by drivers and three storage areas.
Norm Rademacher, president of the Senior Center noted, “This is a great partnership for us. Meals on Wheels is such an important program for our community and someday many of our members from the Senior Center will probably need their services”. He added “its great to see the number of people that volunteer for their program, and many of them participate in our programs by eating lunch at the center, shopping at our gift shops and participating in our activities. In fact, later in the year we will have a joint Christmas Party for our members and the volunteers for Meals on Wheels”.
Meals on Wheels is not the only partnership the Senior Center maintains. Fluke Hearing and the Elder Law Clinic also utilize space in the center at different times throughout the month and a MS Support Group meets at the center monthly. And, the Senior Center is available for rentals throughout the year. Many dates in December are already booked for the holidays, but if you would be interested in renting the center anytime throughout the year, call them at 989-224-7248.
The Clinton County Senior Center is open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. They provide daily activities for seniors of any age and have a public lunch on Mondays and two gift shops in the center that are open to anyone all open days. November brings back canasta, their movie day and board game days and on alternating Mondays they will be holding a Trivia Tournament.
