Mint Singers welcome new season, new members

As autumn hints arrival, members of the Mint City Singers enthusiastically await the start of a new performance season. The choir will gather Monday, September 8 for the first practice session following recent performances at the local National Night Out and the annual St. Johns Mint Festival. The choir will be learning music in a variety of styles to be sung at various events throughout the community.
The choir meets Monday evenings from 7:30-9 p.m. at the St. Johns Lutheran Church. Singers of all levels and experience are invited to join the choir with no audition.
Current members include Kelly Bitz, Marlene Chamberlain, Dave Fitzpatrick, Cheryl Gruenberg, Mark Gruenberg, Jim Gunther, Scott Harding, Rita Hoover, Jeanette Huard, Emma Khavari, Cynthia Laich, Susan Mahoney, Carol Malewska, Jeff Markham, Tess Miller, Sara Morrison, Don VeCasey, Guven Witteveen, Dawn Wylie and Toni Zimmerman. Ellen Hoard directs the choir and Dean Jong accompanies.
The Mint City Singers is in its fourth year and is under the auspices of Clinton County Arts Council. That sponsorship allows tax-free support by donors and supporters.
