St. Johns Community Fund
Funds were granted by Jackson National for the Splash Park. The grant flowed through SJACF because SJACF went through the extensive process of becoming a 501(c)(3) organization specifically so that non-profit organizations who aren’t a 501(c)(3) would be able to apply for grants through SJACF. The purpose of their grant request must support the mission of SJACF, which is to help improve the quality of life in the St. Johns area.

Pictured in the photo are Bob Craig from the Splash Park committee and Bill Schafer, the Recreation Director in the Parks and Recreation Department of the city of St. Johns.

Craig Bishop, President of SJACF, presented an award to Diane Carlson (left), Director of the Paine-Gillam-Scott Museum, and Chelsea VanSipe. Chelsea will be overseeing the project for which the museum received a $500.00 grant from SJACF. The project is an extensive timeline down a long hallway in the museum, that includes historical events in the US, Michigan and St. Johns.

Brenda Terpening accepted a grant from SJACF for $250 on behalf of the Clinton County Senior Center. The funds are to be used for a fall health festival for senior citizens. Also pictured is Craig Bishop, President of the St. Johns Area Community Fund.
