Public Safety Awards: John England and Galen Davis were awarded Civilian Commendations for their help in catching the suspect of numerous breakings and enterings and car larcenies early in 2013. The awards were presented by Director of Public Safety Michael Madden and Mayor Dana Beaman.
At Monday night’s City Council meeting Director of Public Safety Michael Madden and Fire Chief Dean Mazzolini presented the police and fire annual reports for 2013 to the City Commission. Several department awards were also given out.
Officer Greg Spitler received a Life Saving award.
Officer Ben Helms was given a Mother’s Against Drunk Driving pin for 25 OWI arrests in 2013.
Lt. Jody Snater and Firefighter Jordan Whitford both received the Director’s Award for the fire department.
