Kiwanis treats kids to shopping spree: Nancy and Mike Zigler were two of the 26 Kiwanis members and spouses who treated 22 children to a shopping spree at St. Johns K-Mart along with a pizza party and caroling.
Each child had $35 to spend, and their collective glee echoed throughout the store.
Chair Roberta O’Connor expressed appreciation to K-Mart staff for providing space for the party and singing along with their donation of Christmas cookies, drinks and candy for the kids. “Staff was very helpful and friendly,” she said.
An additional note of appreciation was extended to Little Caesar’s for providing the pizza. The annual kids shopping night has become a Kiwanis traditional staple in the club’s agenda for community service.
