The project includes new roofing, exterior brick restoration, concrete replacement at the front entry, two new drinking fountains, auditeria carpet and ceiling tile replacement, one exterior door replacement, one new door installation at the stage area, new mechanical louvers in the Media Center and an exterior canopy.

St. Johns High School
Phase 2 – Academic wing addition
The academic addition is being done in three phases. The first phase is under construction. Work will begin on the second phase of construction in June when school dismisses for the summer, and the north pod of the existing building is demolished.
The first course of block is complete on the first phase of this addition. The crane pad is being built and structural steel columns and beams will be set in mid-March. Masonry block work and electrical and mechanical rough-ins are continuing. The steel joist and deck is scheduled to be installed in early April.
Phase 3 – Sitework
Bids were received in February for the site concrete, landscaping and site electrical bid packages, and the geothermal bid package. The contract for the site electrical contractor was awarded at the Feb. 27 Board of Education meeting, and post bid interviews for the remaining bid packages are ongoing.
The site work is phased – some will be completed this summer and the remainder will be completed next summer.
Phase 3 – Building
Contracts for the sitework and foundation contractors have been awarded for the entire high school project. This allowed for some storm and sanitary work to be completed. Work will continue as the building pad for the new academic addition begins in March, and foundations will follow in April.
The remaining bid packages will go out for bid the week of March 19 with bids due in early to mid-April. Construction on the new addition will continue throughout the year with an estimated completion date of August, 2013.
Plans are being finalized for renovation work to be completed this summer in the Industrial Arts wing and high school administration area.
Phase 4 – Football Complex

Construction work continues. The interior portion of the Rotary Building has been demolished; underground rough-ins are being installed.
Foundations for the bleachers are being poured; foundations for the ticket booths and new team building are complete. Block for the team building will arrive in March, and the team building will begin to take shape.
Technology
Bids were received March 1 for the Multi-Function Printer project. The new printers should be installed this summer. Meetings are being held to discuss the security camera needs for the district.
The multi-media equipment design for the Special Education Rooms has been finalized and the equipment will be installed soon. These rooms will feature touch screens for interactive learning.
