The Clinton County Toys for Tots program is underway with over 35 collection boxes out in businesses throughout the county. Toys will be collected through December 17 and distributed to several hundred children throughout the county. If your family needs assistance with clothing, food and toys for the holidays, register with Capital Area Community Services at 989-224-6702.
If you need assistance with just toys call Clinton County Toys for Tots at 989-224-7248 or email ccchamber@power-net.net. All toy requests will be verified with CACS to ensure families are not already being helped.
For anyone donating a toy, please consider this. The campaign always gets lots of games, generic baby dolls, Barbie dolls, generic cars and trucks, footballs and basketballs.
Some things that are often requested but we don’t get enough of are: craft kits, CD’s, current release DVD’s, sports apparel (hats and shirts), MP3 players, fishing or hunting items, etc.
Some of the specific items on lists already this year include La-la-Loopsy dolls, dinosaurs, Spiderman, Legos, Monster High dolls, Avenger Masks, Thomas the Train and Hello Kitty.
Collection boxes are at the following locations:
In Bath: Bath Library, Bath Senior Center, Bath Township Office and Summerset Park Apartments
In DeWitt: Bridge Street Hair, DeWitt City Police, DeWitt Township Police and Fire (both locations), Farm Bureau Insurance, Hip Hop Hair and Hometown Pharmacy;
In Fowler: Dollar General, Journey Federal Credit Union and Main Street Pizza;
In Ovid: Dollar General, Journey Federal Credit Union and Main Street Pizza;
In St. Johns: Big Boy, Briggs Public Library, Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, Dollar General, Firstbank Downtown, FirstMerit Bank, Hammer & Hand, Journey Federal Credit Union, Peebles, Spicer Group, St. Johns Police Department, Tractor Supply, Walgreens and Walmart
In Wacousta: Marathon Petroleum and Watertown Charter Township.
