Bobble-Heads, Government Regulations, and a Few Thoughts

Here we go again. A mass killing/shooting in Tucson, Arizona, has brought the bobble-head politicians and news commentators out of the woodwork. The more they talk, the more we realize, they don’t understand a damn thing. They blame Sarah Palin for the shooting because she put the “crosshairs on Arizona” during the last election. If you or I mention crosshairs from now on, we’re responsible for the next mass shooting, and you have to know it’s coming. Former Senator, Bob Kerrey, says it’s the Republican’s attempt to repeal Obamacare that set the young man off.
How in the hell does he know that? The person in question hasn’t even said anything as of this writing.
Man has been killing man every since Cain slew Abel. Cain was said to have use either a rock or a club to kill his brother, the Bible is not specific about that. Doesn’t matter, Abel was killed by the actions of his brother and only Cain was responsible. It was also mentioned later in the Bible that Samson slew 1,000 Philistines with the Jawbone of an Ass.
I don’t recall any of these weapons being banned or regulated at that time. Can you imagine Adam saying to that very small tribe at the time that they had to search the countryside and collect all the Jawbones of an Ass, rocks, and clubs and hide them in a cave somewhere far away?
Myself, if I were to be killed would I want to be bludgeoned to death, stabbed to death, or shot to death? In my mind being shot to death is the most humane way to go.
This is the fact of life, humans kill other humans and it’s almost impossible to prevent. Murder is an insane act committed by an insane person and we still don’t understand that. We are on this earth with a bunch of nut cases. Unfortunately along the way, we may run into one of them.
Now they’re calling for tougher gun laws. This is supposed to eliminate the problem. No more killing after this brilliant idea is put into effect.
Does anybody really believe that?
The Arizona killer purportedly had extended magazines which allowed him to fire more rounds before having to eject the clip and shove another one in. Now they’re talking about changing the magazine capacity back to ten rounds. That only means a shooter needs two guns instead of one. Or would they prefer he drove up in a car and blew them and himself up.
Yup, that’ll really make a difference to the victims.
We are fascinated with killers. New Mexico recently considered a pardon for Billy the Kid.
Why?
As of 2009, 14 states plus the District of Columbia ban the death penalty. New York’s law has been declared unconstitutional. We want to watch killers, study them, but in the end we don’t learn a damn thing from them. They are insane in the first place and we have no explanation for that. These states also don’t want to execute killers because they consider it inhumane.
What has that got us, safer streets?

My daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Scott, want to expand her Tail Spin Farm business and get Pygora (angora/pygmy) goats that have fiber (hair) to harvest and spin into yarn and they can be milked which Renee can turn into cheese. They were told originally by Clinton County authorities that they’d have to have at least 3 acres to have just one goat, and 1 acre for each additional goat.
Humans don’t even require that amount of land, just enough room to lie down and take a nap.
Yeah, I know, they think the goats need land to graze. In this day and age they are fed pellets and vegetable scraps much like rabbits. As for the manure, if the neighbors don’t complain, the problem doesn’t exist. These goats are smaller than a lot of dogs and probably don’t produce any more manure.
They checked with the State of Michigan’s Agriculture Dept. and found that state laws supersede county laws and it appears they can get their goats under the “Michigan Right to Farm Act.”
Does that act cover raising chickens in town?

A few thoughts:
We are a Dr. Phil nation, they’re finding way too many people who can’t help themselves. The Dr. Phil show is usually surrounded by Court TV shows. These people aren’t encouraging either. My question is, where do all these people come from?
More is required of a foster parent than a birth parent. No wonder there’s a shortage.
Thanks to the guy from Rose City Motors, I’ve learned to count. 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000. I’m glad he isn’t selling something more expensive.
Why is trade with China so important when our economy is going to hell in a hand basket? We create more jobs overseas than we do at home. Has the late senator, Joe McCarthy, rolled over in his grave yet? I don’t think he could handle knowing that we’re owned by a Communist nation.
Not only do we have to deal with Ahmadinejad, the number one nut case of Iran, who declared that the Holocaust never happened. Now we have idiots in this country who have declared that the word “nigger” doesn’t exist anymore and should be stripped from all our literature. Aren’t there some similarities between these people?
I purposely left out using “n-word,” a politically correct phrase that is usually substituted because people fear their house would burn down if they use “the word.” We’ve never used this word in our house but we understand that in some places it exists.
Will the real Ted Williams, please stand up.
