What do I think?

I wish Lord Obama will be a little more careful about what he comments on. Here’s the situation, our President says things about stuff he obviously knows very little about. Balancing a budget isn’t an area in which he really shines so why is he acting like he knows more than Wisconsin and its own governor. The situation in Wisconsin involves state employees and concessions. If the state of Wisconsin is over $3,000,000,000 in the red, they are either going to have to do something about it or the natural chain of events will take care of the problem for them. That can only mean one thing, insolvency. From where they are right now, it can only get worse if they don’t act.
The private sector has made great sacrifices in recent years and public sector is going to have to make concessions as well. The status quo is not maintainable which means they will all have to give concessions or somebody’s going to be out of a job. That’s the harsh reality of life today.

The Detroit Lions have been penalized by the NFL for tampering with another player under contract to the Kansas City Chiefs. Supposedly the defensive coordinator was responsible for the violation. The NFL took the Lions seventh round draft choice away from them and gave it to the Chiefs. They also had to switch their draft pick in the 5th round with the Chiefs.
Of all things to do to a team that’s gone nowhere in the last ten years, this is way too much. Why don’t they penalize the coach responsible for this instead of the fans?
Way to go NFL.

There’s a program proposed by the current administration that’s looming over our heads called, “Cap and Trade.” They want to reduce our “carbon footprint” by taxing us for our emissions. Maybe they should wake up and see what’s going on in the Middle East and realize, we’re going to have to use coal, we’re going to have to drill offshore, we’re going to have to mine oil shale, and we’re going to have to build nuclear power plants. Otherwise we’re not going to remain a strong nation. Depending on oil exporting countries run by dictators is a risky thing to bet our future on.
We pay for an Energy Department and they’re doing absolutely nothing for us. It’s just another government jobs program.
I’m willing to bet that American corporations moving their manufacturing plants to foreign countries do not have to deal with the same pollution controls that they would have to deal with here.
How do we handle that problem before we go with Cap & Trade? Easy, any corporation moving their manufacturing plants to foreign countries will not be able to import their goods to the United States unless they adhere to “our” pollution laws.
It’s said that Mexico City is one of the most polluted cities in the World and I’ll also bet American companies are contributing to that.
Until the next time . . .
