What do I think?

by Barry Blauer
Having a need to get some dental work done along with a desire to further my education in dentistry, I made an appointment which happened to be the very next day. Not much time to prepare mentally, maybe it’s better because I hate going to the dentist.
Nothing personal.
There are many problems that cause tooth decay. For the younger kids it’s too many sweets or drinks with citric acid in them. For us older folks it’s acid erosion that can include drinking white wine (high acidity), or a problem with acid reflux, or dry mouth decay which happens while you sleep. Your teeth need to be constantly bathed with saliva which keeps bacteria at bay. Those balls of cotton you feel in your mouth at night are the culprits.
I got right in for the examination.
I sat down in their dental recliner with the adjustable light overhead. Was that a car jack I saw in the corner? If it was I hope it’s been sterilized because they might need to use it on me.
I did what I always do; I got a firm grip on the armrests and started counting those little squares in the fluorescent light cover overhead . . . 1001, 1002, 1003, and then the doctor came in.
Of course he used one of those sharp instruments to probe around and sure as the dentist office makes me nervous he struck a nerve. I could swear I came out of the chair and was hanging on the adjustable light for a couple of seconds.
I don’t think I imagined that. Do you?
Anyway, my tongue is never wrong about what’s going on with my teeth. I have a couple of problems to take care of.
They set me up for my next appointment a week later and I can’t wait to get back there — not really!
One thing I forgot to ask the dentist is whether or not he gets nervous like the rest of us when it comes to his own dentist appointments. I’ll do that next week.

“GOP derails Senate vote on ‘Buffett rule’ bill.” This is what the AP reported. Even the Liberals will have to admit that the major news media is bias. It gets tiresome. The headline should have read, “Senate derails the ‘Buffett Rule’.” Or how about, “Senate Democrats fail to unite on the Buffett Rule’ vote.” Yeah, I know, that’s bias too.
You do realize that Buffett is currently contesting a billion dollars in back taxes he owes, don’t you? That’s what makes the bill so ridiculous.
The vote was 51-45 which meant four senators didn’t vote. There are 57 Democrats in the Senate and some of them either didn’t vote or voted with the Republicans. 1 Republican voted with the Democrats. There are also 2 Independents but I don’t know which way they voted.
It was all a piece of political mush which means it’s a ploy to put the blame on the Republicans and get the electorate’s minds off how badly the Federal government and this country has performed the last 3-1/2 years.
Brace yourselves for what’s going to be the nastiest election in our history and you better hunt up your sheep boots because it’s going to get deep.

Short Thoughts:
If the top 1% in this country pays 70% of all federal taxes wouldn’t that seem fair enough to you?
Can you haul a travel trailer with an electric vehicle?
George Zimmerman has been a blessing to Oblama for taking the nation’s collective minds off the real problems of this country. Cain slew Abel and nothing has changed since then.
All things being normal the Detroit Lions will finish 12-4. It’s hard to predict they’ll go to the Super Bowl. It depends on this year’s draft.
Did you see that, Scott?
If Romney can get into a presidential mode and stay there until November, he’s got a good chance of winning. He needs good advisers around him and he needs to listen to them. Watch what you say or do, Mitt, see what’s happening to Oblama. He has to tell one lie after another to cover himself.
Until the next time . . .
