Rip Van Winkle, Godless, and Furthermore

I suffered through some of the Lions first game against the St. Louis Rams and then I did what I always do, I took a nap. Much like Rip Van Winkle. I can’t handle that much excitement anymore. Bad for my heart.
They did pull the game out with ten seconds left and now I can go back and watch the entire thing on DVD. I will analyze it and decide who’s got to go. As much as I holler Schwartz doesn’t pay any attention to me.
We’ve got San Francisco at San Francisco Sunday night and that ought to be a good game. I hope for Lions fans it turns out to be a “great” game. Lions fans will remember last year’s game when head coaches Jim Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz butted heads. I can’t wait for the handshake after the game this year! Do you suppose they’ll just wave and walk on or will they tweet each another after the game?

Can it be that the Democratic Party is a Godless party? They sure looked like it at the end of their convention when they realized that leaving the mention of God out of their platform wasn’t politically correct. Shouldn’t it have been a given and already in there?
They introduced a change in the platform (finally) to include the mention of God and Jerusalem as capital of Israel. It took three votes to add it to do it but not without overruling what the delegates vocally voted. The nays out numbered the yeas in all three votes. Makes you wonder about these folks. I’m not sure I like the way they handle a democratic vote or the way they voted.

I’m getting tired of the Oblama camp saying Romney is not qualified in foreign affairs to be president. Neither was Oblama but he was elected in 08. I don’t know that he has done anything since to show that he’s learned something. Recent events at the U.S. Consulate in Libya and Egypt brings up a lot of questions.
Who in the State Department authorized an apology for the anti-Muslim video on YouTube? It made it sound like it justified the attack on the American Consulate in Libya which killed four Americans? Why should we worry that somebody offended Muslims with a video. I’m more concerned about Muslims wanting to kill all Christians no matter what the excuse is.
Was the attack really planned ahead of time to celebrate 9/11 as America spent the day mourning? After all 9/11 is a holiday over there.
Romney made a statement and was later criticized by Oblama and the Democrats but it looks like it was Oblama who was under informed.

Was I the only one who was embarrassed by former governor Jennifer Granholm’s speech at the Democratic Convention? She acted like she was in a trance or something.
Some idiot posted on Facebook that Morgan Freeman had died! WHAT? He can’t do that to me, I like his movies. Turns out it wasn’t true. We all have to be careful what we get off Facebook and the Internet. Some of it just isn’t true.
The best idea I heard this week for a tee-shirt, “I’m not an illegal alien, I’m an alienated legal!”
So far I haven’t found out how Sandra Fluke is currently paying for her $8 a month birth control that seems to be a burden. She’s the darling of the Democratic Party right now who wants the taxpayers to pay for her pills and or condoms. Nobody has asked what her income is. It makes me wonder because she’s going to law school and that isn’t cheap.
Based on what I’m seeing out there it’s not the truth that will win the election in November, it’s the lies.
The worst division in the Major League Baseball is the American League Central. The second most exciting division in baseball right now, the Central. That’s because it’s a close race and our Detroit Tigers are a game out.
