Town Hall Meeting scheduled for Wilson Center
On Tuesday, June 5 mid-Michigan residents will be able to listen, ask questions and provide input, as a State Government Informational Town Hall Meeting will take place in the Wilson Center Auditorium starting at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will last an hour and is being sponsored by the Wilson Collective, a program that brings all-ages concerts and events to the greater St. Johns area.
This nonpartisan event is part of Bridge Magazine’s “2018 Michigan Truth Tour” and will provide participants with an opportunity to discuss their perspective on how well the state government functions: do you think state government is doing a good job? What changes could make it better? What should representatives elected in 2018 prioritize to improve state government function?
In partnership with Bridge Magazine, the nonpartisan and nonprofit winner of “Michigan’s Best Newspaper” in 2016 and 2017, we have volunteered to convene the Town Hall discussion entitled Good Government. Bridge Magazine is published by the Center for Michigan, a nonpartisan “think-and-do” tank. The Center has spent the last decade traveling around Michigan, listening to what more than 45,000 residents have to say about state policy.
The goals of this interactive meeting are to drive and safeguard facts and spur thoughtful discussion. The Center for Michigan believes that our voices matter – they plan to take the priorities we share and amplify them to state leaders. Our conversation will be one of more than 100 structured dialogues taking place from now through the end of 2018.
You can learn more about the “2018 Michigan Truth Tour” and the Center for Michigan at www.thecenterformichigan.net.
This special event is free and open to the public. The Wilson Center Auditorium is located at 101 W. Cass St. in downtown St. Johns, just south of the Courthouse.
