Michael Donald Low
Michael Donald Low, age 57, of St. Johns, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Medilodge of Campus Area, East Lansing, Michigan.
Michael was born in St. Johns, Michigan on May 19, 1964, the son of Donald Raymond and Nancy L. (Antes) Low. He attended St. Johns Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1984. He worked for Karber Block, FC Mason, and Andy T’s. Mike enjoyed playing golf and being with his family.
He is survived by 5 children, 3 sisters: Tracy Beachum, Michelle and Daniel Ketchum, and Karen and Roger Thurston and his brother Chuck Low. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his parents, and his brother James.

James E. Bappert
James E. Bappert of Grand Blanc, age 67, died suddenly Monday, October 11, 2021 at his residence. James was born in St. Johns, Michigan on October 1, 1954, the son of John Raymond and Phyllis (Simon) Gilroy. On October 8, 2017 he married Jeanne McElheron-Pierce. Jim earned his Bachelors in Engineering and an MBA from Michigan State University. Jim was a project manager with Homeland Security.
He loved all things Michigan State, and spending time with family who were the joys of his life. He loved cooking comfort food at gatherings and hosting friends and family at tailgates for Michigan State football games. He established a scholarship fund at East Lansing High School in his dearly departed wife’s name, Jodi Piper-Bappert. Jim was a founding member of the Flint Chapter of Ele’s Place, a healing center for grieving children and their families.
For over 20 years, he was a distinguished member of the Grand Blanc City Council where he implemented countless community improvements that enriched the lives of Grand Blanc residents. Jim enjoyed golf, tennis, cooking, and was an all-around sports fan. He cherished a trip to Pebble Beach for the US Open with his three sons. Jim was a road warrior, enjoying his honeymoon road trip throughout the northeast, spent recent winters with his wife in Florida, and a recent vacation to the Upper Peninsula. His greatest achievement was his dedication to raising his three sons. Jim always prioritized spending quality time with his family.
Surviving are wife, Jeanne; mother, Phyllis; sons, John (Jace) and Breanne, James (J.P.) and Joseph (Joey);
step-daughters, Emily and Ashley; step-son Theodore (Teddy); siblings, Teresa, Sharon, Kathy and Linda and 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jodi Piper-Bappert, father, John Bappert, mother and father-in-law, Wallace and Frances Piper and step-father, Robert Gilroy.
A Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc with Father Leronio Vodivodi officiating. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 9 a.m. Saturday at church until the time of the Mass. The service will be live-streamed on Holy Family’s YouTube Channel. Search for Holy Family Parish Grand Blanc. Joseph C. Geller
Joseph C. Geller, lifelong resident of St. Johns, died on October 12, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was 66 years old.
Joe was born on November 17, 1954 in St. Johns, Michigan, one of ten children born to Carl and Florence Shoup Geller. At the age of 18 Joe met Cindy Searles and after a brief courtship, they married on July 30, 1973 in Ovid. They made their home in St. Johns where together they raised three children, Amy, Joey and Cora. Joe worked for his father-in-law, Willard Searles, for a few years before beginning his forty-four-year career with General Motors. Joe was a hard worker and devoted to his family. His greatest hobby was his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Cindy Geller; his loving children, Amy Geller, Joe Geller, Jr. (the late Mindy Barks) and Cora (Jason) Decker; dear grandchildren, Maranda (Dan Beehler), Justin, Jordon (Lexi Lange), Lillie “Bug”, Zydan and Remi; great-grandchildren, Laela “Peanut” and Ellie “Bean”; siblings, Allen Geller of Portland, Rita Geller of Fishers, IN, Norm (Carolyn) Geller of Laingsburg, Linda (Jeff) Bledsoe of Dewitt, Gaye (Allen) Sibley of Dewitt, Kathy Johnson of Ithaca, Ella (Al) Rondeau of Potterville, Jim (Tara) Geller of Charlotte; sisters-in-law, Joyce (the late Gary) Weinley and Sharon (Gary) Conklin, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence (Shoup) Geller of Lansing; his father, Carl Ferdinand Geller of Eaton Rapids; brother, Ronald Geller; in-laws, Willard and Lillian Searles; brothers-in-law, Bill Searles, Randy Searles, Gary Weinley and daughter-in-law, Mindy Barks.
Visitation will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 4—8 PM and on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 2—8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, 1500 Waterford Pkwy, St. Johns on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:30 AM. Burial Mount Rest Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Pilgrim United Methodist Church.
Alan D. Williams
Alan D. Williams, age 91, of Tipp City, OH passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit, Troy. He was born on August 28, 1930 in St. Johns, MI to the late Fay and Doris G. (Rice) Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years of marriage: M. Jo Ann (Hawn) Williams; three sons: John A. (Cynthia) Williams, Scott C. (Pamela) Williams and Darin H. (Douglas Armstrong) Williams; three grandchildren: Daniel (Elizabeth) Williams, Nathan Williams (Amanda Booher) and Lauren (Joshua) Stevens; four great grandchildren: Laela, Chloe, Jordan and Jackson. In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his grandson: Michael Williams and siblings: Lawrence Williams, Dorothy Muench and Gary Williams.
Alan was a graduate of Rodney B. Wilson High School in St. Johns, MI. He grew up farming there and had a high milk production dairy herd. He proudly served his country as an aviation machinist mate, third class, with a unit of the Navy’s Composite Squadron 5. (VC-5) He was the plane captain of one of its Savage bombers, supervising the work of the ground crew. On April 1st, 1954, his squadron combined efforts with squadron VF-21 to establish a new transcontinental speed record of 3 hours, 45 minutes and 30 seconds, made possible by the first official in-flight refueling operation of VF-21 fighter aircraft at the midpoint of their run. Alan and his crew received a commendation for their efforts. Stationed for a time in Southern Europe, he had the opportunity to travel to several European cities and skied in the Swiss Alps.
Alan met JoAnn at the wedding of one of his Navy buddies. Alan was the best man for his Navy pal and JoAnn was the maid of honor for her nursing school roommate. They met in May, and started corresponding through letters. After just 6 dates, Alan proposed in August and they were married in December.
Alan was a gifted carpenter, mechanic and metal fabricator. He built numerous barns and outbuildings. He also helped build and frame the house that they have called home since 1965. He worked as a mechanic for Stull Implement Co. in New Carlisle. He split and restored two of the family tractors. After retiring from American Airlines, he purchased and restored an antique John-Deere 530 which he drove in local parades. He fabricated two steel trailers and a flatbed for his pickup truck, all of which are still in use. He was a valuable resource for neighboring farmers when it came to equipment breakdowns and repairs.
Alan was an excellent shot, particularly at offhand rifle. He enjoyed being a member of Indian Creek Rifle Club, with his father-in-law: Herbert Hawn. While living in Tennessee and then into his retirement, Alan and JoAnn put over 175,000 miles on 2 different touring bikes. They managed to visit 38 states in their journeys. He found joy in maintaining his beautiful property and took great pride in flying the American flag. He would raise the flag every morning, and without fail, step back and salute. Alan also loved music. A favorite pastime that began in childhood and lasted throughout his entire life was singing around the piano with family. A tradition that the family will continue.
Family and friends of Alan will gather for a Celebration of Life at 2:30 PM on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Cove Spring Church, Troy, OH with Rev. Greg Morrow officiating. Interment will take place in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, OH. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM on Friday at the church.
Sandra Jean Rasdale
Sandra Jean “Sandy” Rasdale passed away October 9, 2021 at the age of 63.
She was born August 23, 1958 in St. Johns, MI the daughter of Edward “Spud” and Betty (Cannon) Heathman and graduated from St. Johns High School with the Class of 1977. One of the many reasons Sandy will be missed was her gift of sarcasm and quick wit, which was always guaranteed to bring laughter to a room. She was incredibly strong-willed, never one to complain, and always volunteered to take the back seat, metaphorically and physically.
Among the things that brought Sandy joy was her love of tending to her flowers, taking road trips with her gal pals, scoring a good coupon to save a buck or two, caring for her grandpup Lola, and spending time with loved ones at the cottage. Above all, Sandy’s biggest pride and joy was her son, Brian, and his business, BAD Brewing Company. She quickly became known as the “Brewery Mom” to all the staff and was often seen behind the bar where she forged many friendships.
Surviving is her son Brian (Danielle French); brothers, Larry (Diane) Heathman, Gary (Dawn) Heathman and Neal Heathman; several nieces and nephews.
Following Sandy’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at BAD Brewing Company in Mason, Michigan on Sunday, October 17, 2021. The celebration will take place from 12 p.m.
– 6 p.m., with 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. being open to the public and 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. being reserved for private family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ingham County Animal Control in honor of Sandy and her love of dogs.

Richard Erwin Pline
Richard Erwin “Dick” Pline, age 60, of Fowler, MI, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.
A cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Dick was born in Grayling, Michigan on February 16, 1961, the son of Erwin and Alice (Kramer) Pline. He graduated from Fowler High School with the class of 1979. Dick was retired from the Martin-Brower in St. Johns, MI.
He is survived by his wife Trina, daughter Danielle (Logan) Reed and son Derrick Pline.

Timothy John Nixon
Timothy John Nixon, a resident of St. Johns, died at home surrounded by family on October 8, 2021 after having been diagnosed with cancer last month. He was 67 years old.
Tim was born in Saginaw on July 4, 1954, the son of George and Pauline Johnson and grew up in Saginaw, Flint, and Lansing. For the past thirty years he enjoyed his work as a salesman and mechanical and electrical engineer with Edwards International. Outside of work he enjoyed “living his hobbies” and relished opportunities to hunt and fish with his family and friends for whom he was a great storyteller.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kristin; his sons, Timmy Nixon and Jesse Frost; his daughters, Tiana (Brent) King, Jovetta (Andy) Topel and Jamie Frost; thirteen grandchildren and a great grandson; siblings, George (Mary Jane) Nixon, Mark (Mary) Nixon, Maureen Carpenter, Melissa (Chuck) Seavolt, Marcia (Dave) Miller; in-laws, Richard and Alice Williams; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vicki Nixon, Jay (Laurie) Williams, David (Amy) Williams, Darrick (Mary) Williams, Steven (Tracy) Williams; his aunt, Sharon Nixon, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, dear friends and colleagues at Edwards International. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brother, John Nixon.
A Funeral Service will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Parkway, St. Johns, on Tuesday, October 12, at 11 AM with Rev. Phil McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Reed Cemetery in Victor Township. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday, October 11, from 2-8 PM.

Mark Louis Weber
Mark Louis “Jimmy” Weber, age 89, of Fowler, MI, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021, at Sparrow Clinton Hospital, St. Johns.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI, with Rev. Fr. Dennis Howard presiding. Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes – George Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. with a Rosary prayed 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The time and day of service are pending at this time and will be announced as soon as they come available.
Mark was born in Dallas Township, Michigan, on January 8, 1932, the son of Frank and Dora (Goerge) Weber. Mark married Henrietta Ruth “Tootie” Kramer on October 25, 1955 in Fowler, Michigan. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage prior to her passing on April 17, 2016.
Mark was a lifelong farmer and he also worked for Becker’s Furniture. He enjoyed tractor pulling, hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was a butcher for many years and enjoyed roasting hogs for special occasions. Mark loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren and dog Copper. He was a member and past vice president of the Clintonia Antique Tractor Club and also a member of the Mid-Michigan Old Gas & Tractor Association, Fowler Conservation Club and Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI.
He is survived by his 9 children, 29 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one sister Francis Schneider. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Henrietta “Tootie”, twin sons: David and Dennis Weber, and his 10 siblings.

Stanley Anthony Suchowesky
Stanley Anthony Suchowesky, a longtime resident of Lake, passed away at the age of 76 on Friday, October 8, 2021, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Stanley was born to parents Anthony and Anna (Decowski) Suchowesky in St. Johns, MI on February 23, 1945. He joined the U.S. Army after graduating high school and served honorably as an armament Technician in the Vietnam War from 1969-1970.
Stan married Janice Louise Smit in Harrison, MI on June 18, 2003. He worked as an auto mechanic most of his life, then for Evart Products for 14 years until his retirement. He was always listening to the radio, usually 97.7, while tinkering around on someone’s vehicle. He made sure to take things slow and do them right the first time and was never in a rush.
Stan is survived by his wife of 18 years, Janice Suchowesky, his stepdaughters, Angela Post and her significant other, Gordon Abendroth, Jr., of Carson City, MI, Rachele Cronin and her husband, Josh, of Richland, MI, a grandson, Mitchell Post, a sister, Pat Rewerts, and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Anna, sisters; Mary Ann Fero, baby sister, Stella, Francis Stehlik, Ann Drumheller, and two twin brothers, John and Bill Suchowesky.
A funeral service will be held at the Campbell Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 3:00 PM with Pastor Dr. Ray Francis presiding. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 3;00, with military honors following the service at the funeral home. Stan will be laid to rest at the Mt. Rest Cemetery in St. Johns, MI. Memorial Considerations may be made to Mid-Michigan Hospice. Donation envelopes will be made available at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell Stocking Funeral Home, Farwell, MI.
