Marissa Donelle Fahey
Marissa Donelle Fahey, age 27, of Lansing,entered into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
She was born on July 19, 1994 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Scott Fahey and Shannon Carpenter. Marissa attended Ovid Elsie High School for three years and graduated from Laingsburg High School in 2012. Marissa was a hard-working, dedicated tech in the emergency room at McLaren Hospital and was attending Lansing Community College to finish her Nursing Degree and dream to be a travel nurse.
The love of her life was her daughter, Brynleigh Cayden. She was a fiercely loving mother and put all of her energy into her beloved daughter. She enjoyed camping and family vacations, especially the yearly pilgrimage to Pioneer County Park in Muskegon. Marissa was strong, spunky, a firecracker in all of her people’s lives, and she will be dearly, dearly missed by all who join in mourning her passing and giving thanks for her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Brynleigh, her parents, brothers, Travis and Noah Fahey, sister, Sage Fahey, grandparents, Frank and Rita Gazda and Bob Fahey, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her great grandpa and grandma, Donald and Ethel Mulder, her uncle, Darrell Fahey, and dearest cousin Cayden Patrick.
A Funeral Service will be held at Grove Bible Church, 6990 E. Price Road, St. Johns, on Friday, February 11 at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in Middlebury Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the time of service.

Thomas J. Johnson
Thomas J. Johnson, a longtime resident of St. Johns and a native of Lansing, died peacefully at home on February 7, 2022. He was 72 years old.
Tom was born on November 16, 1949 in Lansing, Michigan the youngest of two children born to Thomas C. and Viola (Roberts) Johnson. He graduated from Everett High School, where he played football and baseball, and earned an associate degree from Lansing Community College. He worked for Central Die Sinking Co. in Holt for over thirty years and retired as a custodian with St. Johns Public Schools in 2014.
At the age of nineteen, Tom met the young Juliann Sehlke at a work Christmas party; and after a brief courtship, they married on October 11, 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansing. They built their home on Price Road in St. Johns in 1973 and were devoted members of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Tom filled many positions over the years at the church, including treasurer, elder, chairman and vice chairman and was on the softball league. Together, Tom and Julie enjoyed playing on a bowling league in Fowler, traveling, and camping throughout Michigan. Their favorite places to camp were Interlochen State Park, Burt Lake, Sleepy Hollow, and Wilson State Park. Tom was an avid reader and enjoyed crime and western TV shows. Most of all, Tom loved his family and would do anything for them. He loved to make “his girls” laugh and did everything he could to take care of them.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Johnson; his daughter, Heather Johnson; granddaughter, Harley, for whom he was more like a father; sister, Cheryl (the late Gary) VanPatten; brother-in law, Darwin Sehlke; nieces and nephews, Vicki (Dennis) Robbins, Brian Sehlke, Rob (Lori) VanPatten, Fred VanPatten, Jeff VanPatten and canine companion, Molly.
Visitation will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Pkwy, St. Johns on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 8990 Church Rd, St. Johns on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 12 PM, with visitation beginning at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Mount Rest Cemetery, St. Johns.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the American Diabetes Association-Neuropathy.
Edward L. Rademacher
Edward L. Rademacher, a resident of DeWitt and native of St. Johns, Michigan, died on February 7, 2022, after living with ALS and its challenges for the past nine years. He was 55 years old.
Born on December 19, 1966, the son of Roderick and Mary L. Rademacher, Ed grew up in St. Johns where he was a 1985 graduate of St. Johns High School. After studying at Lansing Community College he worked as a corrections officer for over twenty-seven years at the Ionia Correctional Facility (I-Max). On October 22, 1994 he married Rachele Morgan in St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns. They were blessed with three children with whom he enjoyed playing and watching sports and coaching their teams as they grew. His greatest times were spent up north with his family and friends at the cabin at Higgins Lake with cold beer, a good bonfire, and his great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to Rachele his beloved wife of over twenty-seven years, he leaves his son, Josh Rademacher; his daughters, Ashley Rademacher and Allyson Rademacher; siblings, Anne Rademacher, Dan (Joan) Rademacher, Gerald (Michelle) Rademacher, and Russell Rademacher; mother-in-law, Sharon Derosia; in-laws, Cassie (Rob) Cunningham, Richard (Sarah) Morgan, Shane (Kathy) Morgan and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Richard Morgan.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Parkway, St. Johns, on Friday, February 11, from 4-8 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 12, at 12 Noon with visitation from 11 AM until the time of service. Bryan James O’Connell
Bryan James O’Connell, a resident of Ashley and former resident of St. Johns, Michigan, died on February 5, 2022 after battling congestive heart failure. He was 66 years old.
Bryan worked for the St. Johns Egg station driving trucks right out of school and through the years worked for contractors building beautiful structures in mid-Michigan, including The Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints in St. Johns. He was born with an artistic side and enjoyed drawing his entire life. Very often he could be heard playing his guitar and singing Hank Williams, Jr. songs when gathered with family and friends either alone or with his band. Bryan enjoyed relaxing by fishing whenever he had a chance for hours along the riverbank.
He is survived by his daughters, Tami Henson and husband Matt of Locust Grove, OK, Sherrie Robertson, husband Sal of Locust Grove, OK, and Kelly Harris of Locust Grove, OK; grandchildren, Britney Winningham, Skyler Robertson, Airona Robertson, Corporal Joseph Standingwater, Tylar Standingwater, and McKayla Standingwater, all of Locust Grove, OK; great grandchildren, Jasie Morrow, Jaleah Thrash, Jade Thrash, Josten Thrash and Magnolia Jay; siblings, Diana Schumann, Terry (Sallie) O’Connell, Loretta (Bob) Bowling, Eric (Marilyn) O’Connell, Neal (April) O’Connell, Lisa Larkin, and many nieces and nephews; aunt and uncles, Jim Fenner, Clara Lewis, Rich (Annette) Snyder, numerous cousins and his faithful companion Pugsley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mae (Snyder) O’Connell; grandchildren, Dakota Robertson and Jonathan English; uncles and aunts, Guy (Mary) Snyder, Barbara Hawkins, Donnis Redman, Ellen (Everett) Martens, Carolee Fenner, Bob Lewis, Larry (Lorena) O’Connell, Tom O’Connell, Bud (Gracie) O’Connell, Jean (Harold) Weber, Helen (Russ) Wesner, and Rosie (Roman) Rademacher.

Steven D. Hopp
Steven D. Hopp [Steve] was received into Eternal Life on February 3, 2022 surrounded by his family at the age of 62. Steve was born on September 11, 1959 at Edw. W. Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI. He spent his first years living with his parents in Spartan Village while his father finished at MSU. At age 5 his family moved to Midland, MI where he began Elementary School. In 1967 the family moved to North Carolina where he graduated from Cary High School in 1977.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He received a Certificate in Computer Science from Durham Technical College in 1984. He met his future wife, Mary Lee Horne, while a student at UNC- W. They were married on September 4, 1982 in Burlington, NC.
Steve and Mary Lee raised their two children, Daniel Steven and Christin Leigh, in Clemmons, NC. Steve worked for Old Dominion Freight Lines in Thomasville, NC where was a systems analyst for the last 20 years of his professional career.
Steve loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and most recently his two granddaughters, He was a faithful fan of the UNC Tarheels, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Lions, and a supporter of the activities of his nieces and nephews.
Steve was a talented drummer, and very accomplished golfer. He had two holes in one over the span of his golf playing days, He had a sharp wit and was a loyal and thoughtful man with a generous spirit…and quietly served others without fanfare.
Steve is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Horne Hopp, of 39 years, his son, Daniel Steven of Winston-Salem NC; his daughter, Christiin Hopp Brackett and her husband Major Kyle C. Brackett; granddaughters Ellie Brya and Olivia June Brackett, of Altus, OK; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Dale H. Hopp of Matthews, NC, his sister, Anne Elizabeth Hopp, of Chapel Hill, NC, his brother, Jason Michael Hopp, of Apex, NC, numerous nieces and nephews, nine cousins in MI. one Aunt and Uncle, Mr.and Mrs. Keith Kirschenbauerof Lansing, MI. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman A. Hopp of St. Johns, MI, Mr. and Mrs. Victor F. Brya, of Laingsburg, MI; his Godmother and Aunt Delores Hopp Sperry, of Lansing, MI, his mother and father in law Mr. and Mrs. W. Herbert Horne of Burlington, NC; two Uncles and one cousin.

John Paul Piggott
John Paul Piggott, age 35, of Lansing, MI, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Sparrow Health Systems Sparrow Campus, Lansing, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Catholic Community of St. Jude’s at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 10, 2022, with Rev. Fr. Dave Speicher presiding. Burial will take place at South Bingham Township Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI.
John was born in Lansing, Michigan on August 2, 1986, the son of Duane Julius and Lorraine Lois (Thelen) Piggott. He graduated from St. Johns High School with the class of 2005. John married Misty Lynn Grubb on October 5, 2013, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, St. Johns, MI.
John was employed with DexSys in Lansing. He enjoyed gaming and watching anime with his daughter and son. He loved watching the birds outside, sitting around the bonfire and spending time at his brother’s cottage on Wiggins Lake fishing with family. John enjoyed vacations and his annual Halloween trip to Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad with his wife and kids. John also loved time with his fur-baby Miss Molly. Most of all John cherished his family and time spent with them. He will be remembered for his big heart and willingness to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife Misty Piggott, daughter Isabelle, son Ethan, parents Duane and Lorraine Piggott, siblings: Nathan and Nicole Piggott, David and Sam Piggott, Joseph and Michelle Piggott, his grandmother Maryann Thelen, nephews and nieces: Caiden, Nolan, Keegan, Tristan, Keller, and Jane and mother-in-law Cynthia Paschal. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by two angel babies, grandparents: Gerald and Caroline Piggott and Edgar and Joan Thelen, uncle Neil Thelen, aunt Mary Ann Sherman, and father-in-law Randy Grubb.
