All pitch in to cover Sheriff’s Office on Christmas

On Christmas Day,the Sheriff, Undersheriff and Jail Captain came in to help staff the jail so that employees could be home with their families. The Administrative Lieutenant also came in to work the road so that one more Deputy could be off to spend time with family.
A huge shout goes out to these folkswho are selfless in their commitment to our community and to the employees. Here’s to a very bright future at the Clinton County Sheriffs Office.
City to begin tree pickup January 3
Beginning Tuesday, January 3 the City of St. Johns Public Works Department will be picking up Christmas trees. Please note that Granger does not pick up Christmas trees.
Please place them by the curb and have the tree free of any decorations. Please do not have the tree wrapped in a plastic bag.
You may also take your tree to the Public Works Department at 1000 N. US-127 BR compost area with 24/7 access. Please use the Kuntz Drive entrance.
Attention all singers and music lovers
Mint City Singers would love to have you join them to sing in the choral group for the Winter/Spring 2023 semester. No audition is required. Just bring your voice and your passion for singing.
Rehearsals are every Thursday evening beginning January 12, 2023. Rehearsals are at the St. Johns Lutheran Church, 511 E. Sturgis Street, St. Johns, MI from 7-9 PM.

Tri-County Office on Aging offering online workshop in January
A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls in an interactive workshop which aims to reduce fall risk, increase physical activity, and reduce the fear of falling in older adults. The workshop does include seated exercises to improve balance, strength, coordination, and stability.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a 6-week, interactive workshop that helps non-professional caregivers to take better care of themselves while caring for someone else. Topics include stress management, relaxation, dealing with difficult emotions such as anger, guilt, depression, dealing with losses, communication, and more.

Diabetes PATH is a 6-week interactive workshop designed for individuals with diabetes and pre-diabetes. You will learn how meal plan, decrease stress, get physically active, balance blood sugar, make goals, improve energy, and more!

Alzheimer’s Support Group to meet January 2
The Clinton County area Alzheimer’s Disease Support Group invite all those who are caregivers or concerned about someone with Alzheimers/dementia to join them in a group meeting.
The meetings are held on the first Monday of the month from 7-8:30 p.m.
Beginning on January 2, 2023 the meetings will be held at the Clinton County Senior Center located at 201 E. Walker St. in St. Johns.
The meetings are open discussion with helpful hints offered to people’s questions. Come join them, and know that you are not alone in this situation.

Paint Pouring Class with Theressa Levett is January 11
The next paint pouring class is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
In this Paint Pouring class at the Art & Soul Gallery, you will learn how to apply chemical and color theory to pouring paint. You will learn how to combine oil, flotrol, ink and paint to create cells and to prevent your colors from muddying.
You can do up to three 8″ x 8″pour paintings. Due to drying times, the paintings will be made on the 22nd, but pick up will be the following week.
