Community supports Operation Extraction

The community support for this fundraising campaign has been amazing. So far the St. Johns Fire Department has raised well over $37,000 toward the addition of new extrication equipment also known as JAWS of Life.

This innovative equipment will bring the SJFD to the forefront in patient rescue. Every day vehicles become more durable and safer, and better extrication tools are needed. Battery powered tools are stronger, lighter, and faster than hydraulic powered tools currently in use. They eliminate the need for a gas engine power head and hydraulic hoses that are bulky and require additional manpower to maneuver.

The Department’s goal is to raise $50,000 to fund the purchase of this advanced technology, bringing the St. Johns Fire Department to the leading edge in extrication technology.

If you are interested in donating, contact Chief Jordan Whitford at jwhitford@stjohnsmi.gov.
