Locals show support for MSU family

The Voice for Clinton County’s Children opened their office and were available for all needing support. Advocate Sophie was available for snuggles and dog kisses.
The St. Johns Police Department issued their own declaration of support:
Everyone enjoys a good intrastate rivalry between favorite sports teams. We also recognize that there are times that require unwavering unity and support. The light on our SJPD shield has been changed from its traditional blue to green in support of those impacted by the recent tragedy at Michigan State University. It will remain green until until those who are hospitalized and fighting to recover are safely home. We invite you to join us and turn the Mint City green with support.

Grace Haven Is Recognized as Best of Senior Living
Grace Haven was honored to receive A Place for Mom’s 2023 Best of Senior Living award shortly after earning the 2023 Caring Star Award.
A Place for Mom is the premier ratings and reviews site for senior care providers in North America,
featuring over 14,000 senior living communities and trusted by over 30,000 families every year.
Even though this year’s criteria were stricter than ever, every StoryPoint Group community took home
the award, making StoryPoint Group the most decorated senior living operator in North America.
Their annual award recognizes the best of the best, and it’s only given to senior living providers that
have received an average rating of 4.5/5 and above. What makes the award so special isn’t the
exclusivity, though. It’s the fact that it comes directly from reviews by the people who matter most —
residents and their families.
According to A Place for Mom, the areas that separate winning communities from the rest are: personal
connections between staff and residents, delicious and nutritious food, and services and activities that
support mental and physical well-being. All of which touch on the mission of the community, to provide
the absolute best experience for the seniors they serve.
Grace Haven is a StoryPoint Group community that offers assisted living and memory care options.
The community is located at 1507 Glastonbury Drive, St. Johns, MI 48879. To learn more about the
community’s full services and amenities or to speak with the Grace Haven team, call 989-224-1650.
Eureka Elementary students learn about ice skating
Students at Eureka Elementary School first surveyed the playground to find a location for their ice rink checking for level ground. Once they found level ground students evaluated each location, deciding which spot would work best with the wind and the sun. Next students learned about Ice safety, skating etiquette and safety gear. For the vast majority of the students their first time on the ice was groundhogs day.
This project was funded in part by a grant from Michigan’s P.E. Association, SHAPE Michigan and the Eureka PTO. Some of the skates were also donated by the community.
