Severe Weather Awareness Week is March 19-25

Severe Weather Awareness Week in Michigan will be held March 19-25. A statewide tornado drill will be conducted on March 22 at 1 p.m. One of the goals of the tornado drill, other than practicing for the possibility of a tornado, is the beginning of a conversation about emergency preparedness. The hope is to get folks thinking of questions such as:
– Do you have a plan?
– Where will you go?
– What will you do?
– Do you know the alert systems in your area?
– How will you communicate?

Unfortunately a lot of individuals do not think about these things until it is too late. Prepare your family, engage your community, and help build a prepared and resilient Michigan.

Gallery working on community project

The Art and Soul Gallery is working on a community art project and they need your help.

They are in need of your bottle tops, the sturdy, twist off kind. They are going to use them to create a recycled bottle top, outdoor mural that everyone can be a part of.

They need all sizes and colors, so save your plastic lids from juice, vitamins, Gatorade and protein powder bottles. Please clean them and drop them off at the Art & Soul Gallery when you get a chance. They will keep you posted on the project as they get enough bottle tops to start the project.

If you have any questions you may call the gallery at 989-224-2429.
