Teams still needed for August 29 Golf Outing

They are still in need of a couple of teams for our August 29 Chamber Golf Outing at the Emerald Golf Course. The cost is $290 per 4-person team and that includes 18 holes of golf, carts, continental breakfast, lunch at the turn and a steak dinner after golf. Includes Golf with Cart, Continental Breakfast, Hotdog at the Turn, Treat Bag, Contests and prizes and Dinner after the Golf. Prizes awarded to top men’s, women’s and mixed teams, including a traveling trophy to display at your business.

If you are unable to golf but would like to help at the outing, They also need a couple of people to help at our Par 3 holes taking bets and watching for Hole in Ones. They need a couple of people from 8:00 – 11:00 and 2 from 11:00 – 1:30.

Lowe UMC to host benefit Ice Cream Social

The Lowe United Methodist Church will host an afternoon of food, ice cream and fellowship on Sunday, August 26th from 1 – 3 p.m. at 5485 W. Lowe Rd

A free will donation will be collected to support a family from the community.

There will also be a bounce house for the kids.


Eureka Church to host Ice Cream Social September 9

The Eureka Church will be hosting its annual Ice Cream Social Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 4:30 til 6:30 pm. Hot dogs, sloppy joes, homemade ice cream, pies and cakes. Free will offering. Bring your family and friends. Eureka Church, 2619 E. Maple Rapids Road, Eureka.


Office Housewarming scheduled for Friday, September 14

The Voice for Clinton County’s Children welcomes everyone to join them for an Office Housewarming on Friday, September 14th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

In conjunction with the Clinton County Arts Event, Arts Night Out, they will be giving tours of the office which is full of beautiful murals generously donated by the community and created by Tracie Davis. The wonderful murals create a welcoming, warm space for children to be heard.

Loomis Brothers Jamboree coming September 16

The Eureka Church will be hosting a jamboree with the Loomis Brothers on September 16th beginning at 6:00 pm. Bring your family and friends and enjoy an evening of gospel music.

Briggs District Library to celebrate 20 years

On Tuesday, September 25 the community will celebrate 20 years since the formation of the Briggs Library and moving to the current location on Railroad Street.

As part of the celebration, the library will be holding prize drawings each hour throughout the day, and then hosting an ice cream social starting at 6:00 p.m., followed by a special entertainment program at 7:00 p.m.

The entire community is invited to join in celebrating this milestone, as we reflect on our past and look toward the future.

– Beacon of Hope/First Baptist Church, 512 S. US 27, St. Johns, from 5:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 28 and at

– The Meadows of St. Johns, 2265 W. Parks Rd., St. Johns, from 3 pm to 5 pm, Thursday, August 30.

St. Johns High Class of 1973 45th Reunion

The reunion will be held Saturday, September 15th at the Emerald Golf Course, corner of US127 and Maple Rapids Rd. (the old Clinton County Country Club) from 4PM to 10 p.m.
A Pizza buffet with bread sticks and salad will be served around 6 p.m. Coffee/fountain beverages will also be provided.

A Cash Bar will be available. Cost will be $20 per person.

Leonard announces September office hours

Speaker of the House Tom Leonard, R-DeWitt, will host office hours to meet with local residents and discuss their concerns about state government. Speaker Leonard represents Michigan’s 93rd District.

The coffee hour will take place on Friday, September 14, 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at Big Boy, 1408 Old U.S. 27, St. Johns

Local residents are encouraged to bring comments, questions and concerns about local government and anything else happening in the local community. Moolenaar Announces Office Hours

Today, Congressman John Moolenaar announced office hours to be held by constituent relations representatives at locations throughout the Fourth District. The purpose of the office hours is to help residents in need of assistance with a federal agency, like the IRS and the VA.

Office hours have been held monthly and are held when Congressman Moolenaar is in Washington voting on legislation.
