Shannon M. Rings

Shannon M. Rings died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 as a result of an automobile accident near Pensacola, FL at the age of 36. She was born July 26, 1982 in St. Johns, MI the daughter of Lon and Donna (Nieman) Rings. Shannon enjoyed water sports, spending time at the beach and especially riding personal watercraft. She worked as a waitress but most recently was volunteering in the recovery effort from hurricane Michael that devastated part of the Florida Panhandle.

Surviving are two children, Jordan Michael Rings and Jadyn Marie Rings; her mother, Donna (Mike) Roberts; her father, Lon (lorry) Rings; two brothers, Chad (Alissa) Rings, Jeremy (Kandi) Roberts; four sisters, Judy (Bill) Phillips, Jennett Rowland, Monica (Gary) Miller, Julie (James) Ritter; her grandmother, Lois Nieman and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 PM Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the St. Johns VFW Hall, 2497 N. Bus. 127, St. Johns. The family will receive relatives and friends 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross Hurricane Michael Relief.


John Ray Sheldon

John Ray Sheldon age 78, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, MI surrounded by his family.

According to John’s wishes, cremation has taken place; and a celebration of John’s life will take place at a later date.

John was born in Boyne City, MI on May 7, 1940, the son of Emery Ray and Mildred Mae (Crowe) Sheldon. John attended school in Muskegon, MI. He resided most of his life in the St. Johns area. John loved carpentry and spent his life using his skills. He was a hard worker. John had a big heart and loved to help friends out with carpentry work. He enjoyed riding his Honda Interstate.

John is survived by 4 sons: Don Ray (Jean) Sheldon of Pellston, Kenneth Alan (Lisa) Sheldon of DeWitt, Earl Michael (Theresa) Sheldon of St. Johns, and Todd John Sheldon. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Tonya Leonard, J.D. Sheldon, Michael Ray Sheldon, Jeremy Sheldon, Kay Lynn Sheldon, Kara Sheldon, Kaden Sheldon, Todd Sheldon, and Cheyenne Sheldon; 5 great grandchildren: Kadence, Cain, Zachary, Jayden, and Kaylee; sister Penny (Randy) George, and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Jerry Sheldon, and sisters: Delores Baker and Wilda Miel who passed away on October 17, 2018.

The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI.


Thomas M. Green Sr.

Thomas M. Green Sr. died Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Ocala, FL at the age of 64. He was born June 19, 1954 in St. Johns, MI the son of Paul Green and Eloise (VanEpps) Falor. Tom was a graduate of St. Johns High School, Class of 1972 and he later obtained his realtors license. Tom was the owner / operator of Hart’s Trailer Sales in St. Johns and enjoyed fishing, golfing and MSU sports.

Surviving are two daughters, Michelle Pepin and Ashley Schreiber both of St. Johns; one son, Thomas M. (Delaina) Green Jr. of Lansing; six grandchildren; his mother, Eloise Falor of St. Johns; brother, Robert (Dana) Green of Crescent City, CA; sister, Rebecca (Raymond) Lober of St. Johns; step brother, Daniel (Jill) Falor of Georgia and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Knights of Columbus Hall 1108 N. Bus. 27 St. Johns. Memorials may be made to the family. The family was assisted with these arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home.


Alice Lorraine Bouchey

Alice Lorraine Bouchey, loving Mom and Grandma, passed away at the age of 89 on October 18, 2018 into the loving arms of her husband Harlan and her Savior Jesus Christ at her daughter’s home in DeWitt with her family and friends at her side. She was born June 30, 1929 in Breckenridge, Michigan, the daughter of Earl and Irene (Wilson) Dutcher. On September 11, 1949 she married the love of her life Harlan Bouchey and spent 61 wonderful years with him until he passed away on February 2, 2011. Alice loved the Lord, and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of St. Johns.

Alice was the former co-owner of Brewer-Bouchey Monument Company in St. Louis and St. Johns where she worked until September 11, 2015. Her passion in life was helping other grieving families as they were picking out the right monument for their loved ones.

Surviving is her daughter, Cheryl Bouchey of Dewitt; son, Randal (Denise) Bouchey of St. Louis, Michigan; three grandchildren, Andrew Gaudard, Heather (fiancé Chauncey Shattuck) Gaudard of Haslett, Jeffrey Bouchey of St. Louis; sister, Ann Corbett of Florida; brother, Roger (Lois) Dutcher of Texas; sister in law, Marian Bouchey of Ithaca, along with several nieces and nephews, and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister in law, Eldon (Virginia) Dutcher of Houghton Lake; brother in law, John Corbett of Florida; brother in law and sister in law, Marion (Joann) Green of St. Johns and brother in law, Jack Bouchey of Ithaca.

Alice was a very giving and kind person who always liked to joke around. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends who loved her so much. A special thank you to: Dr. Lars Andersen, Dr. Taylor Thelen, Sparrow Hospice, Karen Small RN, Erica Parris RN, Mark Allen MSW and Kristina Falor PCT.

The family will receive relatives and friends at First Baptist Church, 512 S. Whittemore (Old US-27) in St. Johns on October 20, 2018 from 1pm to 3pm with services at 3pm with Pastor Tim Knaus officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America 322 Eight Avenue 7th floor; New York, NY 10001 (Research) Arrangements are being entrusted to Keck-Coleman Funeral Home in St. Johns.
