To celebrate 100th birthday
You are invited to join the friends and family of Frances Halitsky as they celebrate her 100th birthday on Sunday, December 9 from 2-4 p.m. at Indian River United Methodist Church. The church is located at 956 Eagles Nest Road in Indian River.

She requests no gifts please; but if you have a memory or a photo, she would be pleased to have you share it.
Senior Center to hold Craft Show and Bake Sale
A Craft Show and Bake Sale will be held at the Clinton County Senior Center on November 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Gift Shop will also be open with glassware, books, puzzles, decorations, etc.
The Craft Show benefits the Clinton County Senior Center. Bake Sale proceeds go to Clinton County Meals on Wheels. This will be held at the Senior Center at 201 E Walker Street, St. Johns.

City of St. Johns 2018 Fall Open Gym
Adult Open Gym Volleyball
If you are looking to play volleyball in fun, easy going environment then this is the place to be. This program will take place on Monday Nights starting October 22nd through December 10th from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.
*New* Adult Open Gym Pickleball
The City of St. Johns Recreation Department is excited to be offering this new adult program this fall/winter. Pickleball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. This program will take place starting the week of November 5th through December 13, from 10:00 to 12:00 pm Tuesday mornings and Thursday nights from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Adult Open Gym Basketball
Open gym basketball is a fun way to stay in shape and stay connected with the game of basketball. This program will take place on Wednesday nights starting November 7 through December 12, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
All programs will be held at the Wilson Center Gym. The cost to attend each activity is $4 per night or you can purchase an open gym pass for $20 good for 6 visits (one pass can be used for multiple activities). Bellingars to hold Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 1

Bellingar Specialty Meats would like to invite you to their Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 1 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at 5006 N US 27, Saint Johns, Michigan. They will be offering samples, sales, and holiday cheer.
WITL will be there from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and the first 25 people in line have a chance to win tickets to the WITL Christmas Party.
Santa will be there from 1:00-4:00 p.m., so bring the kids.
Community Thanksgiving planned for K of C Hall
On Thursday, November 22 there will be a no-cost community Thanksgiving Celebration and Dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The worship service will start at 11 a.m., and the dinner will be held from 1-2 p.m.

Collecting used or new books and more
The Aktion Club and Transitions in St. Johns are collecting gently used or new books, DVDs, VHS tapes and CDs for a community center in St. Johns that was an Elementary School.

Moolenaar Office accepting Internship Applications
The office of Congressman John Moolenaar is currently accepting applications for congressional internships in his Washington, D.C. office for Spring 2018.
The internship program is open to college students and recent graduates who are interested in learning more about our country’s legislative process and the day-to-day operations of a congressional office. Intern responsibilities include conducting tours of the U.S. Capitol, researching federal legislation and assisting legislative staff. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend legislative briefings and congressional hearings on Capitol Hill. Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter, resume and any specific legislative issues or areas of interest. Applications will reviewed on a first-come basis.
College credits are available per school requirements.

Ladies Advent Dessert Tea is November 30
The Ladies Advent Dessert Tea will be held on Friday, November 30 at 7 p.m. at Pilgrim United Methodist Church; 2965 W. Parks Rd., St. Johns. Please join them, and please invite other women who might also be blessed by Carrie Gaul’s talk: “Can you hear the Whisper? In the Christmas frenzy . . . All Is Well.”
Revive our Hearts is a ministry that calls women to freedom, fullness and fruitfulness in Christ. Carrie serves on staff with Revive our Hearts and encourages women through her words to not merely survive, but to thrive. The Lord speaks through her to help women experience peace, joy, contentment and purpose.

Moolenaar Announces Office Hours for November
Congressman John Moolenaar announced office hours to be held by constituent relations representatives at locations throughout the Fourth District. The purpose of the office hours is to help residents in need of assistance with a federal agency, like the IRS and the VA.
