Arthur C. Farr

Arthur C. Farr, 88, formerly of St. Johns, MI passed away at Ingham County Medical Care Facility on Sunday, June 2, 2019. Arthur was born on November 7, 1930 in Holt, MI the son of Dorr and Ada (Hause) Farr. Arthur was a carpenter. On November 11, 1966 he married Carolann Remus in Holt MI. She passed away on December 18, 2015. Art was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed the senior group and shuffleboard.

Survivors are daughters, Bonnie (Dennis) Odom of Mason and Linda Vanderstow of Portland, MI; Sons Wayne (Patricia) Farr of Bath; Randy (Larena) Farr of Laingsburg; Thomas Farr of Lansing and John Farr of Lansing; 11 Grandchildren several great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Chad Konieczny officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Holt. The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday before the funeral service. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.


John Henry Costello

John Henry “Jack” Costello, age 78, of St. Johns, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his home.

Jack was born April 17, 1941 in Fulton Township, the son of John and Thelma (Luckey) Costello. He graduated from St. Johns High School. He lived, worked and raised hogs on the family farm. Jack was the sexton at Union Home Cemetery for many years and enjoyed helping people with genealogy and family history at the cemetery. When Jack was younger he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his sisters Darlyne Sizemore, Kay Charles and 6 nieces and nephews

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Van Reed and brothers-in-law Don Sizemore and Joe Charles.

Ronald F. Koenigsknecht

Ronald F. Koenigsknecht died May 29, 2019 at the age of 69. He was born January 24, 1950 in St. Johns, MI the son of Nicholas and Margaret (Stay) Koenigsknecht. After seminary, Ron went on to Michigan State University to become a teacher and earned his Master’s Degree in Education. He taught for 41 years, 32 years at Newaygo High School in Michigan and 9 years at Lecanto High School in Florida. Ron had a passion for music and was able to play an array of musical instruments. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed growing bonsai trees. Traveling was a big part of his life and he and his wife, Darlene, had many adventures together. Ron married Darlene Dodson, March 10, 1973 and she survives him.

Also surviving are their children, Brian (Randi) Koenigsknecht, Mary Anne (Mike) Olman, Kevin Koenigsknecht and Michelle (Cooper) Green; ten grandchildren, Isabelle, Vienna, Layla, Christopher, Makayla, Jackson, Charlotte, Anna, Allison, and Cooper; siblings Janet (Mike) Sinke, Sue (Bob) Rehmann, Gary, Karen (Doug) Lawrence, Nick (Rita) Koenigsknecht, Mary (Mark) Geller, Connie (Kurt) Conley. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. The family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
