Pilgrim UMC holds Rummage Sale this weekend

Pilgrim United Methodist Church, located at 2965 W. Parks Road St. Johns on the corner of DeWitt and Parks Roads, will hold an indoor Rummage Sale on Friday, July 19 from 9:00-5:00 and again on Saturday, July 20 from 8:00-5:00.

Items may be purchased by Free Will offering unless otherwise marked. Proceeds will go to the KAIO Youth Program.


Coding Club begins August 5 at the Briggs

 

The Briggs District Library is offering a session of their Coding Club for tweens and teens ages 11-14. This session takes place over 3 days, Monday, August 5 through Wednesday, August 7 from 2:00-3:00 p.m.

This is an introduction to robotics and color coding using Ozobots. No previous experience with Ozobots is necessary.

Laser Tag Night is July 30

 

Join this fun Laser Tag event at the St. Johns High School softball field for 12-17 year olds. Parents and guardians are welcome too.

Legendary Artists Passage celebration is August 3

 

Murals beautify our public spaces and Arts Council members are so very pleased with everyone’s involvement and commitment to this project. From prepping to preserving, this community mural project has been so rewarding in so many ways and to so many people involved.

Please join them for a celebration reception at the Depot Pavilion on Saturday, August 3 at 3:00 p.m. Enjoy light refreshments. Then as a community everyone will all walk the trail to the mural.

His Cup Runneth Over, a mobile soup kitchen, will be making a stop at

HSMM’s Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Wait List opening in July

 

Housing Services Mid Michigan announces the opening of its Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Wait List for individuals with disabilities, ages 18-61.

To qualify, you must have a verifiable disability, be between the ages of 18 and 61, and agree to live in Clinton County.

Packets will be available Monday, July 22, 2019 through Friday, August 2, 2019,
either from the Clinton DHHS office located at 105 W. Tolles Dr., St. Johns, MI 48879, or by downloading from www.hs-mm.org.

All packets must be returned in one of the following ways: emailed to csmith@hs-mm.org, faxed to 517-541-0269, or mailed with a postmark no later than Friday, August 16, 2019 to HSMM at PO Box 746 Charlotte, MI 48813 to be considered for the wait list. CRV to visit Yankee Air Museum

 

July 22 – 26 Alternative Energy Cost $75
There many different ways of generating electricity. This event looks at the different ways used in Michigan. Students will travel to explore alternative methods including solar and wind.

The Yankee Air Museum offers a wealth of educational programs and excels with STEM programming
specifically developed for children grades K-12.

The community Resource Volunteers has scheduled a trip on August 7 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. for ages 8-12 year olds. The cost of the event is $35 which cover transportation and admission to the museum. Please bring a sack lunch, wear comfortable shoes and dress according to the
weather.
