Daryl Joseph Trefil, II
Daryl Joseph “D.J.” Trefil, II, age 32, of Ashley, Michigan, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Covenant Healthcare Center, Saginaw, Michigan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 4010 Cleveland Road, Perrinton, Michigan 48879 at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 19, 2019, with Rev. Fr. Andrezej Boroch officiating. Burial will take place at Fulton Center Cemetery, Perrinton, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 2-7 P.M. at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 4010 West Cleveland Road, Perrinton, Michigan 48871. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at the church.
D.J. was born in Lansing, Michigan on August 29, 1987, the son of Daryl Joseph and Tammy Lynn (Neideffer) Trefil. He graduated from Fulton High School with the class of 2006 then attended MSU Dairy Program. He worked for DeSaegher Dairy (Milk Star) in North Star, Michigan as a herd manager. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball and most importantly D.J.’s devotion to his beautiful twin daughters: Alaina Jo and Aliyah Marie. He was a member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, Perrinton, Michigan.
He is survived by his twin daughters: Alaina Jo and Aliyah Marie Trefil; parents Daryl and Tammy Trefil of Maple Rapids, MI; two brothers: Dillon and Kiley Trefil of Perrinton, MI; Dalton and fiancée Kendall Vedrode Trefil of Maple Rapids, MI; nephew and nieces: Tavin, Allie, and Tenley Trefil; grandparents Ron and Joyce Neideffer of Reed City, MI; and many uncles, aunts and cousins. He is also survived by his Godparents Scott and Jeri Lynn Zamarron. He was preceded in death by grandparents Joe and Tiny Trefil, great-grandparents Harley and Jay Neideffer, his aunt DeAnna Trefil, along with many other dear family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked the memorials be directed to his twin daughters’ education fund. Checks and may be mailed to Daryl Trefil, P.O. Box 168, Maple Rapids, Michigan 48856. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, Michigan.
Eileen Marie Northrup Church
Eileen Marie Church, 75, of DeWitt passed away September 11, 2019. She was born on June 14, 1944 and graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in St. Johns in 1962.
Visitation took place September 15 from 4-7 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated September 16 at 2 p.m. at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St, DeWitt with a visitation one hour prior.

Ivan C. Moore
Ivan C. Moore, 83 or rural St. Johns passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Sparrow Hospital. He was born on July 5, 1936 in St. Ignace, MI the son of Elijah L and Esther R. (Johnson) Moore. He graduated from St. Ignace High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Ivan worked as an engineering supervisor at Sparrow Hospital for 27 years. On February 9, 1963 he married Helen Jean Griffin in Grandville, MI. He was a former member of the Hub Antique Car Club, loved wood and metal working, traveling, auto restorations and working in his workshop.
Survivors are his wife, Helen; children, Michael A. (Kristi) Moore of Holt and Suzanna (Todd) Cory of St. Johns; grandchildren, Autumn Cory, Elijah D. and Joshua M. Moore; sister, Rebecca Moyer of Grand Rapids and brother John Richard Moore of Quincy, MI.
There will be no services per his request, and memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer United Methodist Church, St. Johns Campus. The family is being served by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home.
Steven Thomas McClure
Steven Thomas McClure, 27, of Laingsburg went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Steven was born March 16, 1992, the son of Kenneth McClure and Sally Hamlin. He worked in the construction industry as a brick mason. A loving, charismatic son, brother, father, and friend; he will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his parents Kenneth (Barbara) McClure of Ovid and Sally Hamlin of Laingsburg; his sisters Alexandra McClure of St. Johns, Jami McClure of Mackinac Island, Rebecca McClure of North Carolina, and Karen McClure of St. Johns; son Declan McClure of Twin Lake; grandparents Lester and Janalee McClure of Brohman; step-grandparents Jim and Nancy Kitson of St. Johns; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home in St. Johns, MI on Wednesday, September 18, 12019 from 4-8 p.m. The funeral will be held at Faith Church, DeWitt Campus, on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
Kathleen Karen Reynolds
Kathleen Karen “Kathy” (Kubica) Reynolds, age 72, of St. Johns, MI, formerly of Troy, MI passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. with Monsignor Frank Koper officiating. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Kieran Catholic Church, Shelby Township, MI on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. with Monsignor Frank Koper officiating.
Kathy was born in Detroit, MI on February 20, 1947 the daughter of Matthew and Helen (Chuey) Kubica. Kathy graduated from Waterford Township High School. Kathy married Thomas Reynolds on August 28, 1965. She resided most of her life in Troy, MI.
Kathy loved to shop and travel. She also enjoyed photography, painting, gambling, and collecting many different things, especially purses and cookbooks. She liked cooking and hosting parties for Valentine’s Day, Super Bowl, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Class Reunions, and most importantly, family get togethers. Kathy enjoyed employment and will be missed by her associates at Winkleman’s, Father & Son Construction, Waltonwood and Elmhaven Manor. She will be missed by her lifelong friends in Susick Subdivsion, Emerald Lakes, and Oakland Township. She will also be missed by her friends in the pinocle club, birthday club and the Chrysler travel club. Kathy made friends easily everywhere she went.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Reynolds of St. Johns, MI; daughter Cynthia (Randy) Howell of St. Johns, MI; son Thomas Jeffrey Reynolds of St. Johns, MI; 4 grandchildren: Spencer and Lillian Howell, and Macy and Jeffrey Reynolds; cousins: Toni “Sis” (Brad) Trout-Mikel of Colorado; Marlene (Dave) Wall of Pennsylvania; Susan Secrist of Pennsylvania; Janice Kubica of California. Kathy is also survived by the Scislowicz family and her canine companion, Luke. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, brother Matthew “Junior” Kubica, and Sandra (Joel) Harris whom she considered as her sister, cousin Ed “Ronnie” (Rose) Kubica and her favorite uncle, Marty Kubica. Kathy lost her beloved pet, Cher.
Memorials may be made in Kathy’s honor to a charity of your choice. The Reynolds family expresses a special thank you to Visiting Angels and Elara Caring Network Hospice, especially Mary. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI.
