Devores to celebrate their 70th anniversary

Please join Dr. and Mrs. Harry DeVore in celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on Saturday February 1, 2020.

An Open House will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Hazel Findlay Country Manor, 1101 S. Scott Road, St Johns, Michigan.

Dr. DeVore and W. Jeanne (Cline) were married on February 1, 1950 in Hoopeston, Illinois.

Dr Devore practiced family medicine for over 50 years from 1962 until 2005. They are the parents of Linda DeVore and Stephen DeVore.


Loomis Brothers to appear in concert February 2

Please join your friends for a Gospel Jamboree with the Loomis Brothers this Sunday, February 2 at 6:00 p.m.

The event will be held at the Eureka Christian Church, 2619 E. Maple Rapids Rd., Eureka, MI

What’s Your 2020 Vision? No resolutions – simply great intentions!

This is a collaborative mindfulness workshop presented by Debi, from Deb’s Sereni-TEA Lounge, Mary Ablao from Studio Retreat & Art Gallery and Tess Miller, DMA alto flutist.

They will begin with a unique herbal tea blend, learn of the ingredients and benefits. Tess Miller, music practitioner with McLaren Greater Lansing who also plays with our local Mint City Singers, will provide beautiful, therapeutic alto flute music.

You will learn about Power Poses and create your 2020 Vision Board with art therapist, Mary Ablao.

Workshop is held at Studio Retreat, 316 N Clinton Ave., St. Johns. Reserve your seat by calling 989-493-5824. Cost is $45 – Sign up before February 2 – $40.


Annual Chocolate Fantasy is February 13

The Senior Center will host its 11th Annual Chocolate Fantasy on Thursday, February 13 from 6-8 p.m.

More than 25 Chocolate Creations will be featured by individuals, caterers and restaurants. The cost is $10.

The event will be held at the Clinton County Senior Center at 201 E Walker Street in St. Johns. Proceeds will be used to pay winter heat bills.


Romancing the Tone will be coming to the Wilson Center on February 22

 

The quartet Romancing the Tone, consisting of Ellen Hoard, Dave Sincox, Kelly Sandula-Gruner, and Dan Templin are back for another limited engagment at the Wilson Center Auditorium.

This year will be joined by James Geer on piano, Tess Miller on flute, Scott Harding on percussion, Jack Mumma on String Bass, Darryl Schmitz as Sound Technician, Jim Lorenz as Lighting Technician and Kelly Bitz as Usher.

They will bring you songs of love during the month of love. Program starts at 7:00 p.m.

This is a fundraiser for the new lighting system at the auditorium.


Area student named to Marquette University’s fall 2019 Dean’s List

Elizabeth Wojtysiak of Dewitt, MI, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2019 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Wojtysiak is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences.

Moolenaar Announces Staff Office Hours for February

The purpose of the office hours is to help residents in need of assistance with a federal agency including the IRS and the VA. Office hours are held monthly by constituent relations representatives when Congressman Moolenaar is in Washington voting on legislation.
