Dawn M. Jallow
Dawn M. Jallow age 58 passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Sparrow Hospital. Dawn was born on November 15, 1961 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Carl J. and Lois J. (Rozema) Fonger. She graduated from St. Johns High School in 1980, was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
Dawn is survived by her sons, Scott (Ashli) Everett of Leslie and Greg (Danielle) Everett of Bellevue, MI; grandchildren, Cole and Carly Everett and Evin and Autumn Everett; mother, Lois Fonger of St. Johns and brothers, Dave (Dawn) Fonger and Bob Fonger both of St. Johns. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Fonger.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8, 2020, from 11:00 A.M. until service time which is at 1:00 P.M. conducted by Rev. Andy Croel. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Betty Jean Mueller
Betty Jean Mueller, 87, of Houghton Lake passed away on Saturday February 1, 2020 at North Woods Nursing Center,in Farwell surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on August 8, 1932 at her parents’ home in Conway Township, Livingston County, to William and Videt (DeMarais) Bunce. She grew up in the St. Johns area where she graduated from St. Johns High School. Betty was married on August 19, 1950 in St. Johns to James William Mueller. She worked as a cosmetologist and later as a Parapro at the Clinton County Intermediate School District. The couple moved from St. Johns to Houghton Lake in 1968, where they owned and operated Mueller Chevrolet for ten years. She would spend her winters in Apache Junction, Arizona for the past 20 years. Betty was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She was a woman of strong faith who enjoyed spending time with her family and especially the grandchildren and family camping trips. She enjoyed crocheting, cards, dominos, and going to play bingo.
Surviving Mrs. Mueller are her three daughters, Diane (Greg) Benford of Mount Pleasant, Donna Simison of Roscommon, and Darlene (Dick) Tillman of Prudenville; two sons, David Mueller of Radcliff, KY, and Dean Mueller of Radcliff, KY; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother-in-law Gerald Mueller of Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Fedewa of Westphalia, and Blanche Woodbury of Elsie. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James William Mueller; granddaughter, Rachael Tillman; and sister, Barbara Sober.
Mass of Christian Burial for Betty Jean Mueller will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday May 15, 2020 from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Prudenville, Mi. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family. Donald William Seelhoff Sr.
Donald William “Don” Seelhoff Sr., 83, of Ovid, MI, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Advent Health Hospital, Zephyrhills, FL.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M., with his son Pastor Donald Seelhoff Jr. and nephew Pastor Scott Seelhoff officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 4-8 P.M. and on Friday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Don was born in Rush Township, MI on February 9, 1936, the son of William and Clara (Wellmer) Seelhoff. He attended Rush Township School. On June 16, 1991 Don married Hazel Mae Hinkle at her daughter’s home in Ovid. They enjoyed 28 years of marriage.
Don worked at Midland Brake, Owosso, for many years. He then was a semi-truck driver, until retirement. Don has been a custodian at Ovid-Elsie Schools since retirement, which he truly enjoyed. Don loved to golf, play cards, and trips to Vegas with Hazel. Most of all, Don loved his family.
Don is survived by his wife Hazel Seelhoff of Ovid, 2 sons: Donald (Wendy) Seelhoff Jr. of Hopkins, and Thomas (Karen) Seelhoff of Owosso; 2 step-daughters: Vickie (Dan) Csapos of Zephyrhills, FL and Tracy (Kerry) Cole of Laingsburg. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Lindsay (Aaron) Pumfery, Ryan (Samantha) Seelhoff, Donald (Casandra) Seelhoff III, and Daniel (Krista) Seelhoff, step-grandchildren: Derek Csapos, Erin (Derek) Cuthbert, and Dayna (Ryan) Bancroft; several great grandchildren, sister Shirley (Gaylord) Long, and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard Seelhoff, and siblings: Arlene (Dewey) Simpson, Doris (Clarence) Atkinson, Bernice (Lee) Sutliff, Lorrayne (Harlan) Shuster, and Norman (Berma) Seelhoff.
Memorials may be made to Ovid Fire Fighters Association. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes – Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI.
