Glass Blowing featured

During April 14 Sunday Event
As incredible as it may seem, those who track such things, assert that glassblowing is becoming one of the leading hobbies in the United States and is gaining popularity around the globe. The practice has become more than a hobby; indeed, an art unto itself.
On Sunday April 14, area residents will have an opportunity to observe the art in motion when Pam Schuster discusses the art of blowing glass during Clinton County Arts Council’s monthly Sunday Event from 1-3 p.m. at the Gallery. Ms. Shuster will have several of her works on hand while explaining techniques of forming glass into ornaments or decorative and practical pieces.
Ms. Shuster’s appearance, along with other activities of the day, including light refreshments are sponsored by Al’s Aerial Spraying and are free of charge.
The Gallery is located at 215 N. Clinton Ave. in St. Johns and information regarding these monthly get-togethers – and other Council related activities – can be obtained by calling 989 224-2329.
Activities of the Arts Council are made possible through generous sponsorships, such as offered by the Rotary Club and regular membership dues and donations. These sources are supplemented by periodic grants from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs which is a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
