Caroling Kids and more
Registration starts this week, October 16, for our Caroling Kids at Briggs! Kids ages 4-10 can sign up to sing for Santa at our annual Holiday Programs. Caroling practices are Tuesdays, Nov. 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 6:30-7:00 p.m. The Holiday Programs are Dec. 6 and 7 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Dec. 8 from 10:00-12:00 noon. Call or stop in to the Library to sign up or for more information.
Chapter Chatter “Readers Theater”
As a group we will be acting out the book “Too Much Noise.” We will be using or making simple props and sound effects to make this book come alive and will perform for parents at the last session. Also staff will be reading the chapter book “Grin and Bear It” to the kids. The program is on Monday evenings at 7 to 8 pm, October 29th – November 26th. (No session Nov. 12th as the Library will be closed for Veteran’s Day Holiday.) Children ages 6 to 8 years old are invited to register for this fun program. Refreshments will be provided at each session.
Jr. Reader’s Book Club
Join us for an A-maze-ing Junior Readers Book Club on Monday, October 22 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. This program is for kids ages 7-9. We’ll start with a book discussion on “The Clue in the Corn Maze” by Gertrude Chandler Warner, followed by a game and/or craft, and then have some “corny” snacks. Registration is required and books are available at the Library desk.
In-House Fundraiser
Materials for sale will be audio books, DVD’s, VHS cassettes and newer hardcover fiction. Each item will sell for $1.00. Money raised will be used for purchasing new visual and audio titles and large print books. The fundraiser runs through October 31st.
An Event So Good It’s Scary
Once again this year the Library will be participating in “An Event So Good It’s Scary.” On Halloween, Wednesday, Oct. 31st, from 3:30-5:30 the Library will be handing out treats to children to help promote safe trick-or-treating.
Library Closures
The Library will be closed on Monday Nov. 12th in observance of the Veteran’s Day Holiday. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns throughout these closures.
Fundraiser Thank You
Thank you for participating in the Schwan’s fundraiser and for purchasing our magnets! The magnets raised $24.85 that will be used for materials at various youth programs and the Schwan’s Truck Load Sale earned $383.03 for the Library. Your support at our fundraisers is appreciated.
