Caroling Kids and more
The Caroling Kids Children’s Choir returns to Briggs Public Library just in time for the holidays. Santa’s helpers are inviting all children who love music, are ages 3 – 10, and who are able to attend at least one practice and one program date to sign up. Program dates are Thursday, December 2 at 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 3 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 4 at 10:00 a.m. Practice dates are Tuesday evenings from 6:30-7:00 in the Library Meeting Room on November 2, 9, 16 & 23. Holiday Tween Time
Tweens come and celebrate An Old-Fashioned Christmas. Youth ages 9-12 will enjoy holiday stories and customs from 1800’s America on Tuesday November 16th from 7:00-8:00 pm. The program will include a game, a craft and refreshments. The Library is currently taking registrations for this free holiday program via phone or in person at the Library.
Public Domain E-books
Overdrive the company through which the Fuel Your Mind downloadable audio collection is provided has made over 15,000 public domain e-books available. Patrons can access the site through the link on the Briggs Public Library website or by going directly to http://fuelyourmind.lib.overdrive.com.
The icon for accessing the e-books is part way down the left side of the screen. On the e-book search screen there are instructions on how to download a title using Adobe Digital Editions. These e-books have unlimited downloads, they do not expire and they do not count towards the number audiobook downloads allowed at one time. Check out this new resource and if you haven’t already take time to look at the audiobook collection that allows for listening on a computer, MP3 player, ipad, ipod and iphone.
Library Closures
Briggs Public Library will be closed on Thursday, November 11, in observance of Veteran’s Day. The Library will also close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, Thanksgiving Eve. The Library remains closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, but will be open regular business hours on Friday and Saturday, November 26 and 27. Friday hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday hours from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Drop Box on the Library porch will be available for all returns throughout these closures.
Holiday Program
The Library’s annual holiday program will take place on Thursday December 2nd from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday December 3rd from 6:00-8:00 pm and Saturday December 4th from 10:00 am -12:00 pm. Santa will visit with the children and games, crafts and refreshments will be provided.
