Mark Your Calendar – Save The Date – Free Family Fun and more
Thursday, July 21st, from 7 to 8 pm. Briggs Public Library is excited to present a unique program, “Musical Folktales” that combines interactive storytelling, beautiful music, and audience participation. There will also be hands-on fun with musical instruments from around the world. Tasty theme related home-made cookies and a refreshing drink will be available. This free performance is sponsored by the Library Friends Group. Please join us for this exceptional and world expanding experience!
Usborne Books and More Fundraiser
Usborne Books & More is a leading publisher of children’s and young adult books. Usborne has over 1100 titles. Books that are fun and educational are the goal of the company.  Usborne publishes books that are high quality–plus affordable. There will be a Book Fair on July 12, 2011at Briggs Public Library from 10:00am to 8:00pm. The Book Fair will benefit your child (interesting, educational reading material), you (very affordable prices and getting to watch your child LOVE to read) and Briggs Public Library (loads of FREE books). Peruse at your leisure and take the books you purchase home with you. Brenda Miller, Usborne Books & More consultant, will be on hand to answer questions for those not familiar with Usborne Books.  Payment for the books can be cash, check (made out to Brenda Miller) or credit card.

Guessing Contest Winners
Egyptian Guessing Contest Winner: There were 742 inches of cloth strips wrapping the mummy! Troy Cramer guessed the closest with 794 inches. Week two, Gavin Griggs correctly guessed 82 animal crackers. There were 482 pieces of rice in the container during week three. The winners were Ashley Zampaloni with a guess of 500 and Bailey Bunn with a guess of 477. Congratulations to all the winners so far this summer.
Tween Program
Meet the Monsters of the World at Briggs Library! Tales abound on every continent of vampires and werewolves, Bigfoot, Godzilla, the Loch Ness Monster, and so many more. Are these stories true?? ‘Tweens (ages 9-12) are invited to join us on Tuesday, July 26th at 7p.m. Registration begins on June 28th and is required. We will have fun making a craft, playing a game, and eating a great snack. Be there! You’re not afraid of monsters . . . are you??
Library Closure
The Library will be Saturday July 2nd and Monday July 4th in observance of the Independence Day Holiday. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns throughout this closure.
