Thursday morning crash
Early on the morning of Thursday, November 21, 2013 a two vehicle traffic accident on crash on M·21 at Essex Center Rd /Francis Rd in Bengel Township claimed the life of Albert Thelen of St. Johns.
A vehicle driven by 58 yr old John Waldron from Lansing was northbound on Francis Rd and failed to stop at the intersection. Waldron subsequently collided with a westbound truck driven by 59 year-old Albert Thelen from St. Johns.
Both driven were transported to Sparrow Hospital. Thelen died from his injuries sustained in the crash while Waldron is being treated fur non-life threatening injuries
The traffic crash remains under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by St Johns Fire Dept., Clinton Area Fire and Rescue, Clinton Area Ambulenee, Lansing Mercy Ambulance and Clinton County Central Dispatch.
